Very rarely an animal is put down. It is for extreme aggression that makes the dog unsafe to adopt or for mercy when an animal is sick or in pain and there is no effective remedy. The shelter does not kill for space as many other shelters do.
I work there and it is an extremely low kill shelter. I have been there since june and we had by law only put 2 dogs down. ONLY IF IT IS BY LAW
