Friendly staff doesnt negate: missing documents (you will find many empty form holders in the waiting area), horrible hours (anyone who commutes on the island might find 10am too late(it used to be 9 but covid happened), knowing they are in and working is comforting for mail delivery). Possibly there is room for improvement, but it is the post office, good luck.

Routine discrimination going on at this location and with the postmaster Sean. Refuses to accommodate me because I’m disabled without reliable income and of mixed race: I don’t have an address that accepts mail, I move between living on a boat and an rv, and mainly been using the rv. The marina doesn’t have mail facilities or anyway for mail to be delivered there, yet Sean refused to allow general delivery for more than 30 days when my friend who was white and not physically disabled was able to get it for over 6 months until she got an apartment. I can’t pay for a post office box, so they also dislike people that don’t have fixed incomes and instead get money whenever they can get someone to hire them a job. It’s hard enough getting anyone to hire you because of a physical disability and sometimes to get jobs you have to be able to get mail so it’s setup to make getting work one can do within their physical disability limitations impossible much less be able to even keep work if Employer can’t send mail for certain reasons. Or even get the job acceptance notifications and therefore miss out on having work.

Mail is often delivered very late IF at all! Packages are not delivered any longer and you have to go to the brick and mortar location for collection if you are lucky enough to get home in time before they close. The line is always long and the people working are rude and unfriendly.

Best PO. Amazing front staff that are incredibly helpful and nice. The worst thing to deal with is the angry people standing in line. To all those complaining about Rural carriers jobs on Vashon... Congrats on being the epitome of entitled complainers. Want less miss deliveries? Stop ordering cheaply on Amazon, get a mailbox big enough to fit all your material purchases you make to fill in the void in your soul, or get a PO Box... and stop complaining on google reviews as if our FedEx or UPS office is better (they're non-existent).
