Worst place ever, most of the neighbors are not friendly at all. It’s literally impossible to get a hold of the front office for anything. After we moved out they charged us for carpet that they said was brand new, but definitely was not. Overall they will try and screw you in anyway they can when it comes time to leave. I had a whole discussion about what was going to be owed when I left, and it ended up being twice as much “new carpet”. OK.......strongly suggest to move somewhere else. Oh, and there maintenance are pretty my spies for the supervision up there. I wouldn’t be surprised if they go through your belonging when you’re not home.

Moved here from out of state, at first the management seemed very kind and diligent. Now they are very shady. I work nights at a very messy job that has mandatory overtime so I don't get home until 1:30-5 in the morning. They knew this when they put us in our unit, however they failed to mention that our building is the only one, in which you are not allowed to do laundry after a certain time due to the tenant who lives next to the room. We were told they had a dog park, but it's more like a swamp. There is water everywhere all the time. It smells like a sewer and they never mow, so if you want to use it you must give your dog a bath afterwards, all the time. Maintenance was quick to help when our drain was clogged but after that nothing. The bathroom is very cheaply put together and since the toilet paper holder fell off they have not been by to fix it, we put an order in months ago. They are strict on some residents while they let others do what ever they want. We have two bigger dogs and the lady next to the laundry room has a smaller dog. She never puts her on a leash but always acts over the top when we walk outside with our dogs on a leash, because her dog likes to run up on people. Her child is always next to our window pestering our dogs because she is bored. The landscaping is inconsistent, they are constantly planting new flowers yet wait until the grass is 6 inches high before mowing it. The dog stations are always empty on bags and overflowing with poop. When they redid the mulch they failed to let anyone know, and our windows were open so being on the ground floor mulch debree got all over our couch. Lastly we have never formally complained because we are not those kind of people until now. They left a letter at our door stating they aren't renewing our lease and to be moved out by August. We have not heard or talked to them since we moved in and we are always on time with rent. This company is very poorly run and it would be wise to search elsewhere. We were not going to renew as is due to inconsistency but we did not appreciate a letter being put in our door without cause. Good luck if you decide to go with them.

There is a lot of pros and cons to these apartments but it's a pretty good short term home for now. we have been here for a year now and we are about to start our second year here in a couple days where we will be transferring to two bedroom. The one bedroom apartment is nice, the one thing that shocked us the most was when we were shown the model we were told we would have a dining room and the day we moved in we were mad to see no dining room. The place was well cleaned and the neighbors are nice and quiet. There is always hot water but the tile in the bathroom shower popped out within the first month of being here, and the toilet and sinks clogs very easily. Maintaince comes pretty quickly when called but it took them a couple tries to get it right but honestly they still then didn't fix the problem we just gave up and put a bowl under the leaking sink. The landscaping was very nice in the beginning of the spring and summer but after that they don't mess with it at all for the rest of the year besides the grass once a month. The bushes were never kept up with and would over flow onto the stairs and the trees weren't trimmed and would have to duck around them to walk past. Also the maintaince works on other complexs very early and loudly in the morning on the weekends which not only is very aggravating but the one day they painted on a Saturday morning and the fumes spread throughout the entire building and we literally had to leave for the day. Overall we enjoyed our time here so far. The staff is friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. But the only thing with the transfer to our new building is they switched the move in day on us at the last minute and we will now have no electric for a couple days bc they don't switch orders at Duke. We also took off work for the day and now we have to try to switch our off days at the last minute. Hopefully they are able to fix some of the small issues they have here and it would make it a perfect apartment home for people besides it being WAY over priced!

2.5 Stars I lived in a two bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and our roommate for a year. There were good things and bad things about living at West Hills. I started off on shaky ground with the management from the get go. We toured the renovated model apartment and I was assured that our apartment would look just like the model. That was a lie. Our apartment was renovated but it wasn't as nice as the model (different appliances that were also white and not black, different floors in kitchen, different countertops and cabinets). We had an "upgraded" white dishwasher only after I made multiple phone calls to the office. The carpets were very nice, I loved them. The accent walls in the apartment were a nice touch as well. Something that surprised me was that the water pressure was always good and I never, ever ran out of hot water in the shower. There was an issue of dog waste across the yards but eventually people started cleaning up after their dogs. Having the "bark park" was very convenient for us since we didn't have to drive to a dog park if we didn't want to. My only complaint there is that the park needs to be leveled. The middle of the park dips real low where water will collect and create a lot of mud. The building across the lot from us had a lot of noisy teenagers ...yelling, peeling out their cars, etc. but our building was pretty quiet for the most part. Occasional dog barking and loud kids but nothing you wouldn't expect at a bottom floor apartment. Having all of the utilities that West Hills covers paid for every month was really helpful but I think they ask far too much in rent for their apartments. Ours wasn't aweful but definitely not worth what we were paying. I really enjoyed going to the pool. It was always pretty clean and had a decent amount of privacy. Maintenance was generally pretty good about getting to the apartment whenever we had an issue with something but there were a few times that I needed to call and remind them that we were waiting for our A/C to be fixed when it was 80+ degrees in the apartment. I think West Hills is okay for a first apartment or maybe somewhere that you don't intend to stay long, just until you can find something nicer ...but I wouldn't live here again and I don't think I would recommend it to too many people. It's just not worth the asking price.
