Went into the Tacoma store this afternoon at about 5:55 PM. Did not realize the store closed at 6pm. I was greeted by someone who was on the phone but was more focused on a personal conversation than me, the customer. Two other employees were talking about personal things on the floor and did not greet or ask if I needed help. I was ready to drop about $2k on lighting. Right at 6 a sales person approached me asked if there was anything I was looking for and that they were closed. I said I was looking for bathroom and outdoor lights, but if they were closed I’d have to go. She then told me their regular hours and I said I did not live near by and would have to look on line. She did not even offer to let me have a peak at what I wanted to look at, and instead looked at me in awkward silence. When you are in a showroom, comissioned environment you anticipate that you may stay a little later if a customer walks in prior to closing time. I work in a commision showroom environment and have also worked in non commission sales. Its fine to tell the customer you are closed but you should at least offer expedited service. This was bad form.

Just buy a nice light fixture in the mid two hundred range, it does not work, test it a couple times, still does t work. Take it back within 24 hours. They do not have another one in store so I am now charged a re stocking fee and have to wait til tomorrow to pick it up. Kinda messed up. Long time customer shouldn’t run a business like this.

We went in with an idea of what we wanted and Seattle Lighting made it happen. I wanted to hang pendants from track lighting but wasn't sure if it was possible. Other places would have us wait for many days or weeks to get the product in. They had it in their warehouse in Seattle and we had it the next day. I would definitely go back to Seattle Lighting to get ideas and help with what we have in mind.
