My experience living here for the past 5 years...Besides my rent and utilites consistently increasing especially after the mutliple fires in our building, I don't like paying for amenities that can barely be used. We could at least get new washers and dryers. 1 of them have been broken for almost 2 years now, and we cant use them all at once or it consistently floods the first floor leaving a moldy smell. The company who cleans the buldings barely clean ANYTHING literally. The doors are filthy, the stairs are full of spider webs on the inside. The carpets never get cleaned so if a dog makes a mess it just stays there. As much as we've complained in the past about packages being stolen, all they did was take away the delivery room in the office which made it worse. Storage fees doubled with increased rent. The bugs are annoying. I dont know why I see roaches and my apartment is spotless from behind my fridge to the tops of my cabinets and closets. When someone did spray TWICE for pests it barely worked. The cabinets are coming off the wall from a flood I had last year. These apartments are almost 60 years old so I dont expect too much to be avoided, but I would like to be in a place where I know things are being improved in the actually buildings. Not because of a fire or the way management "manages". Its more to an apartment complex than that. These apartments "look" nice, but they just arent anymore.

I didn’t want to give a review until I have stayed here for a few months and got the fill for the apartment, management and environment. So I moved in mid March…My move in process was easy. Management was nice. I wasn’t able to view the apartments in person, before hand due to COVID. They also didn’t have pictures of the newly renovated apartment I was moving to, so I was literally taking a leap of faith. My apartment is perfect and I love it. For a 1 bedroom it is extremely large and roomy..I have so much space. The price of rent is also affordable which I appreciate so much. The complex is well kept. Everyone is pretty much quiet here. Nothing really goes on. There’s a lot of parking. The Landry room needs some updating. Sometimes the washer or dryer doesn’t work. I’ve put money in the machines and sometimes they don’t work. That’s kinda annoying. The dog park needs to be mowed more often. The grass is currently high right now lol. I wish there was a small trash can placed somewhere in the front. I walk my puppy at night sometimes and I hate going to the back where it’s dark to throw his stuff away. With that being said so far I really like my apartment. The environment is great. Management are nice and professional. Whenever I text them I ALWAYS get a response back. The only major complaint is whoever lives on top of me walks extremely heavily late at night which is so annoying especially when I’m trying to sleep. I haven’t made a complaint though. Thank you!!

In my experience, they haven't provided a reliable way to enter my building. My electronic key stopped working in October 2020 and in march 2021, still didn’t work and the leasing office didn’t solved the issue. They seem incapable or at least unwilling of fixing something as simple as a key for me. Furthermore, the staff seems to be unknowledgeable about anything. There seems to be a high turnover rate of the staff working in the leasing office. I can never seem to find the same person to discuss these issues with. The last person at the office was absolutely unwilling to listen to me and very rude. Crime is also something to consider before moving in here. Last summer somebody shot a resident in front of my building and the bullet shattered the glass of the building door. Months after that, the police also found a body near the main entrance of Highland Pointe. It's definitely not a place where you want to bring your kids. Not to mention the suspicious activity around the area. On more than one occasion my Amazon packages have been stolen as well. In 2021 there was a fire that consumed an entire building and they had to evacuate the residents. We received an email about how they were taking care of things but days after the fire, the same building caught fire for a second time. When I decided that I wasn't renewing my lease, I started getting emails that Fairlawn (the owners of the property) scheduled showing of my apartment while I was still living there. They didn't even ask me beforehand. I don't trust the management and It's clearly very sketchy and unprofessional. Don't move there. It's not worth the money.
