Came here today with lower columbia river fishing enhancement to plant over 1000 trees. Very nice spot it is so sad to see what this eruption has done.

Low cost and convenient to Mt St. Helen's National Monument. Right next to the Toutle River. A 2 minute walk to the river. Playground, water electric and dump. Has gas station nearby, no shopping nearby.

It's a nice and quiet place. The river is shallow and doesn't have a strong current, which is safe for kids to stay in. You do need swim shoes there, because the rocks are sharp and slippery. The view is beautiful and there's lots of picnic tables and shade under the birch trees.

They don't have a camp host there to check that. You have to check the website for the city parks and rec that's where you reserve sites. And see what's available
