Not very helpful or trustful. Called to make a report of a dog bite from my neighbors dog. I got a case number, and never heard from them. To retaliate though, the neighbor who owns the dog who attacked me was able to get a quick response from them about a false Leash Law Violation we got hit with. Disappointed in how they handle a dog bite to a human but how quickly they responded to her false allegation of a leash law violation. Wrote this in hopes it helps someone who may have experienced this. They do not care and will not respond to you. Unless you falsely allege a leash law violation which they seem to be very quick to respond to that.

When I was looking for a pittie to join our family, I found Luna. They described her as "the wiggliest" and they weren't lying. She's such a goofball, happy, and loved. When they brought her out she was soooooooo happy. Which leads me to believe the dogs they have are well loved and cared for.

We submitted multiple animal nuisance complaints over a year and a half, using the official submission form and following their exact requirements. That included multiple audio files to demonstrate that the dog next door was barking for long periods of time that we could hear in all parts of our house. The dog was also allowed to roam free in the neighborhood and would come onto our lawn, tearing up dirt and barking at us and people who would walk by. The dog would sometimes be left out overnight and start barking between 12-3am. We had to move because it caused us so much stress and anxiety. We were repeatedly snubbed by this agency. They always found an excuse not to take action. Their last response says: "The audio/video evidence showed that due to provocation it did not meet the required unprovoked 10 minutes of repeated barking or intermittent episodes of barking lasting a minimum of 30 minutes. Provocation includes: other dog barking, construction noise, pedestrian traffic/noise, children playing nearby, etc." There were none of those sounds in the audio we sent. If a human stood in their yard and screamed every time someone walked by, they'd be locked up for sure. Why are dogs allowed to do that? Animal Services' solution: to give the owner a pamphlet... the same pamphlet that we gave the owner a year and a half ago in our attempts to work directly with them on the issue. Shame on this agency for contributing to the decline of Portland.

Everyone I met today at Multnomah County Animal Services, were so nice, it was almost like talking to family! We adopted Shelby, formerly known as Bethany, from here today, and what a precious pup she is, we absolutely love her! My Munchkin cat who hates all other animals is smitten with her too, so, BONUS! The people who work and volunteer here, and just about any shelter, have a very hard job, that is hard work, rewarding, frustrating, and at times heartbreaking. Please let them know that they are appreciated, because these services they provide arent just good for the animals, it's good for the whole community.

That's crazy I have to do the same thing right now my dog is 13 years old and I believe I'm going to go to the Oregon Humane Society if you are on food stamps or welfare there is a cheaper way to do it I believe for people who don't have money that's what I'm going to do good luck it's taking me months and months to get to this decision it's really hard I don't still know how I'm able to go through it
Not enough. Its like 35 bucks. That's the 1st thing anyone scans. You'll get your dog back if they're a runner
Call animal control if you never did they will investigate and if the dog is truly neglected they will take him away
Penelope, while MCAS doesn't provide cremation services, here is more information on local service providers for cremation and end of life services: https://multcopets.org/deceased-animals-end-life-services
Look into Pongo Fund, they provide assistance to homeless, may be able to help or refer you
I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay. You just need photo evidence it's your dog and you need so sign a couple papers. My german shepherd was just taken there very recently and that's all we had to do.
G.O.D duh 🙄
Yes you can, you just need to let one of the volunteers know.
$20 if you receive govt assistance. Otherwise $30.
House of Dreams Portland OR
I believe they do. Nice clean place. Easiest place to adopt.
If you decide to adopt an animal , the shelter nueters them before they leave the shelter as far as food stamp for dog food use your food stamp card using the cash option,it should be fine depending on the size of your pet, good luck
Only if someone takes the cat somewhere where can scan him and call the chip company.
You can get them licensed online or in person if you do it in person just look up the address. However you Need to have your pet up-to-date on their rabies vaccine.
Within 30 days of reaching 6 months according to the website
No one is going to do anything about this. People are getting shot everyday in our city. Try talking to your niebors
Do you have a large glass patio door or picture window? My Aunt did, and birds would fly into it all the time killing them.
Do not take your animal there they are a kill shelter and they have very deplorable conditions in that shelter in Multnomah County I saw what the condition to that place look like inside when I went and picked my dog up do not take your animal there
No, just getting desperate for new food sources is my guess.
They do have kittens from time to time.
Coyotes are common in Portland. No need to do anything.
Get a lawyer if a theft has occurred
They have a foster program, but volunteers must be approved and trained prior to taking home any foster animals.
No, it doesn't cost money and there is no age limit.
Adoption prices vary. You will also need leash, licensing etc.
You have to have the animal contained in a humane way for them to come pick up the animal. Otherwise just take it to the shelter when they are open.
Puppies to 7 mo $250, dogs 7 mo to 6 years $150, dogs over 6 years $60.
Visit multcopets.org or come to the shelter
Spray apple vinegar or vinegar diluted with water anywhere you don't want the cats to hang out, like on your patio. They don't like the smell. If you get the chance, spray them too. Won't hurt them a bit.
Maybe check Craigslist
Thank you for taking care of this puppy. We recommend reviewing options for low cost services and veterinary care on our website here: https://multcopets.org/low-cost-services-0
Yes, they accept bags of dog food for the shelter and have a donation table for those who have come on hard times.
We spay or neuter all animals prior to adoption. We also provide surgeries for public animals (cats and dogs) when booked through the Spay & Save Program. Call 1-800-345-SPAY for questions about eligibility and fees, and to book your surgery appointment. http://asapmetro.org/spay-and-save/
It would be cheaper to drop them off as strays and then tell the person when you drop them off that you want first priority when they are able to be adopted. It would be free to drop them off as strays and it would be around $200 at most to pick them back up. And they would be up to date on shots and fixed.
We have small dogs that come in all the time. As long as they aren't under 7 months old, or have extra special needs they will be on the special. The staff updates which animals are available for adoption each night on the website. www.multcopets.org
MCAS is currently running an adoption special. The adoption fee equals the date. So, if you adopted today, your fee would be $19 for any dog over 7 months old.
Yes! They have staff doctors :) However, if the animal needs more immediate care, they have partnered clinics around the metro area who can triage before they are later admitted to the shelter.
Huh
20 months is still a puppy if you just adopted them take advantage of the free vet exam, also start handling them young,if you do,you will be able to brush their teeth, something you can do.just make sure you dont use human toothpaste please get dog toothpaste. Your dog at age 20 months is a puppy you have time.
Go in in person
Yes, you can bring him in.
