Although the front desk staff was kind and accommodating, there was a lot that it couldn’t compensate for. I chose this hotel for the pool and laundry (I have two toddlers), but upon arrival they said the pool is down for 2-3 days and there’s no laundry. The showers have this old crud (not dirty, but needs to be re-done), the bed was uncomfortable, and the sofa bed cushion had a big wet spot that they flipped upside down on top of the once clean sheets underneath leaving a large brown stain. To top it off, you have to pay $16 a night to park in the garage. Thoroughly disappointed.

We had a confirmed reservation, and even called the day of our arrival to advise we would be arriving a bit late (10:45-11 PM)...they advised no problem. When we arrived they told us they were over-booked and found another hotel we could stay with ZERO empathy that we were without a room. We had already made plans with family for the Easter Weekend and again ZERO empathy that are plans were no longer viable and we had to rearrange last minute on Easter weekend. The reception staff was not attentive and really could care less about our situation. When we arrived at the other hotel it was under major construction - lobby closed, pool closed, exercise room closed, dirty, dusty, noisy - no mention from Hyatt that this other hotel was under construction - no wonder they had availability. Furthermore - our credit card was still charged for the Hyatt rate vs. this less expensive hotel rate - still waiting to make sure it is reversed. Management and reception desk could not be any less accommodating at the Hyatt of Bloomington, so disappointed.

The hotel is perfectly nice. Rooms are nice and clean, whole hotel is well kept. Nice simple breakfast in the morning. Location is great to Bloomington downtown and IU. Just one key issue you'll want to be aware of. Our room had a sliding glass door for the bathroom. It didn't latch or lock in any way. It is minimally soundproof if you know what I mean. It leaves you feeling like you have almost no privacy. If you are travelling with someone besides a significant other, this might be a deal breaker for you.

Thursday evening stay, following a snow storm. Room was clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the facility. Staff was very helpful. On our drive here the only places open had been convenience stores, the snow had closed pretty much all the restaurants on our path. But the front desk man came to our aid, he was super helpful in finding us a place that was still open and still serving food. If we ever need a place to stay in Bloomington, we will check here first. Recommended.
