The ER triage guy was rude and made me cry. A guy peed in his wheelchair and no one bothered to clean it. I walked out of there totally convinced my diagnosis was wrong. About 15 minutes after I left the ER I started to feel quite a bit better. All they gave me was potassium and it worked. They have issues but they do know their stuff. Any other visits I have made to this ER were as pleasant as they could make it be. If I was in need of critical care this is where I would want to be. Thank you

Communication was horrible. My 92 year old grandma had to get an emergency surgery. She and my parents, whom she lives with, had COVID a couple of months ago and of course tested positive for COVID at the hospital because of viral shedding. They put her on the COVID unit and did not care what any of us had to say. So now she can not have visitors, which includes her primary caregiver, my mom. And, In the ER we updated the phone number so they could keep in contact with my mom during surgery. Even though my mom and sister were physically there outside the surgery area. The ER did not update the number and so we never got any calls. But, the Dr found everyone in the lobby with no issues and said a nurse would be coming to get them in the next couple of hours. After going to the front desk a couple of times over 6 hours and asking what was going on and getting no clear answer, a nurse randomly after 8 hours of waiting, asks my mom if she was related to my grandma because they are trying to find her family. Well did they once, in the 8 hours of waiting, ever check the surgery lobby where everyone was sitting. No, they only called the number in the system that the ER said they updated but obviously didn’t. It was all horrible. Once again Pres leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also, we had asked for her to be taken to Lovelace and the ambulance refused to take her to Lovelace and said they were taking her to pres. I did call a patient advocate and make a report.

HORRIBLE!! I was visiting from out of town. I arrived at the ER at 10pm. The check-in process is completed in front of EVERYONE and the whole waiting room will know your SSN. They’re quick to draw blood and get your vitals, but that’s it! No DR, PA, LPN or RN sees you! People who where having chest pain even had to wait. There was a guy that got shot in the arm. Because it wasn’t severely life-threatening; they put him in the waiting room sitting next to me. I was in so much pain and throwing up blood, but they didn’t care. Finally at 9am (YES, After 11hrs, I still hadn’t been seen) I decided to leave and catch my flight back home. When I landed back home. I went to the ER in my hometown and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and appendicitis! If I had stayed here waiting to be seen I would have died! They have the nerve to send me a bill for me sitting in the waiting room. I never signed any documentation that one would sign authorizing treatment and/or payment. They never took any of my insurance information, but sent me a bill. I have dang good insurance that covers all ER visit; making the ER visit free. Please avoid this place at all cost, the other reviews are 100% regarding the wait times.

No team approach to patient care. I’ve had two surgeries here and no help with my pain post-op while hospitalized. I don’t want anyone to experience the same needless suffering that I have here. There are much better hospitals (at least one) in ABQ with a team approach where everyone feels respected.
