Nice hike to an old mining town. 10 mile round trip. Trails in good shape.

Pretty hike with a fun stop at the ghost town. Good for families with kids.

We stumbled onto this trail by accident. We were trying to head up to Goat Head Lake but the road got so rough that we turned around and parked next to a handful of cars and started this hike not knowing much about it. Its an easy hike, very flat without many challenges. We went past the main picnic area and then across a stream and up to see the rest of it. There is another trail back there to Glacier Basin. We never made it to the basin, but the views from around there were amazing!

Discovery doesn't apply, it's Federal. You can get a day pass at the parking lot, or the National Forest pass will work. I think the day pass was $5. The trail starts at the green gate, about 100 yards passed the parking lot.
There is a campground area for backpackers right outside the actual town.
