This “legal” office is a joke. Firstly they don’t answer the phone almost ever, and when they do you can’t even leave a message. You can only imagine how frustrating it was trying to make arrangements with them during COVID. Once my parents and I got lost and went to the wrong base, and by the time we showed up there they had left for the day. Even though I tried calling several times. They don’t know what different types of POAs are, as their POA info documents states that POAs are for when someone becomes incapacitated. Not true! You do not have to be incapacitated to appoint someone as your POA! So anyhow, had POAs for my parents done there and they refused to allow me in the room with them to make sure they got things correct. My father was in early stage dementia and my mother’s first language is not English. Then I look at the POA several months later, and apparently my signature as POA has to be notarized! Which they NEVER told them, and we could have had done there the same day at no charge. Now I have to waste extra time and $$ finding a notary public near me. Thanks for nothing.

PFC Brown is the star of this show😊👍 He on the front line with his great professional customer service skills. And hats off to attorney Kelly Hanson who patiently and thoroughly processed my legal documents. She told me every Tuesday at 0900 hours this office conducts a divorce filing workshop. DIY and save money. What a blessing.

Isnt that bah fraud?
You must have a DOD ID card for eligibility to both the post as well as the Legal Assistance Office. Go to the visitor center at the main gate and ask for a pass to the DEERS office to get a proper ID if you're eligible.
I think so. But not sure.
If he has been in long enough and you have been married long enough that you will keep your benefits, go to the ID office on mcchord and speak with them directly. If you arent going to retain benefits, it's not worth the fight, you will have to surrender your ID when the divorce is finalized.
Any legal questions must be made in person, down at the offices
It is a blanket document that may allow you to use a joint bank account and pay bills in your spouses name, however, it is wiser to use what is called a specific item power of attorney(POA) for every item that you need control of while your spouse is deployed. Legal will explain why, but the short explanation is that many banks and bill collectors(comcast, etc) will not honor a blanket POA and want a specific POA to cover exactly what the POA holder is able to do in the absence of the primary account holder. Legal is on post next to Waller Hall.
No.
That section is not open on the weekends.
U either call to kno what to do if U want to talk to an attorney or U can walk in. It all starts by U making either of the first moves.
