Three staff members gave me false information and were trying to prevent me from getting food stamps. They tried to tell me I couldn’t get a new card because I wasn’t “head of household” despite the fact that the head of my household is in jail. I left and called customer service after I found out the card they gave me had 0 money for food on it.Don’t work at Dshs if you don’t want to help people…sick of judgmental and rude people in charge of others’ assistance. Customer service told me (after my 2 hour phone call) that the staff was wrong and never should have told me no in the first place, now I have to wait until Monday to get a new card. Do better.

Today at 8:00am, I thought I was on a roll after being told someone will be with me in 5 minutes. At 11:27. I realized that no one was going to pick up. I call back at 11:30 to be told 7 minutes. To be told they still have not received my fax. 3 and hours and 27 minutes, for nothing twice.

You got to office and sign in to speak with a worker, at that point they will help you obtain a card, the hardest part is the wait in the waiting room

With a Tacoma ID you can dump pretty much a whole truckload of stuff at the dump for $20. That’s pretty affordable
I would call DSHS .. Keep saying operator .eventually it will take you to an operator..or go on line to dshs.wa.gov It has what you need to know about signing up or updating.

Get the landlord involved and let them have a discussion with the family about the child. hopefully the landlord doesn't have to follow the eviction process for the disturbance of other neighbors. You also might want to file a police report about their disturbance as well.
