Bad experience, would not return.

Beautiful historic building and place of worship. Many generations of my family were married here. Beautiful landscaping, a fun interactive visitor's center with stories from Mesa and building up people & families. The Easter Pageant and Christmas lights are community traditions!

Absolutely, check out the visitor's center as well.
They're not going to be decorating the Mesa Temple this year, if I'm not mistake, because of the renovations that they are doing on the Mesa Temple. You might want to check The Church of Jesus Christ's other Temple in Gilbert. They might be doing lights on those grounds this year instead.
Yes, they rent temple clothing but the payment method is only debit or credit card
I believe it opens on the 16th of December, however you'll need a appointment.
I don't know if they're open or have anyone manning phones yet. Sorry
How sweet, Kim. To be honest, you do not need to release them. Anyone can get in to see the Temple during the Open House. Ticket or not. Why don't you invite a friend and give them to a friend!
Don't miss this Easter pageant and as mentioned before, get there early to get seating in chairs. Or bring a blanket and sit in the back on the lawn.
There are usually different groups that perform each night. You might try calling the Temple Visitor Center. They will probably have more in depth information about that.
About 7:30 am start end About 7pm
7:30am to 8pm
I really don't know, friend, we were just visitors

It's like heaven on earth inside. An appointment is needed, but there's a visitor center next door with additional information.
Not this year. No lights either.
Since the temple won't be dedicated till December 12, the Christmas lights won't be happening this year, but they are planning on it next year
The Temple Open House is now over. It was AWESOME to attend though. If you ever get the chance to attend another temple's open house, I highly recommend going!
The visitor tour of the Temple is wonderful. A once in a lifetime opportunity for all to see before the Temple is rededicated December 12th.
It is suggested to get tickets for the open house. The open house ends November 20. After that date the temple will be dedicated and afterwards only worthy members of the Church of Jesus Chris of latter day saints can enter.
Most family center has been moved to the online platform familysearch.org and is free to use for everyone.
VIP Open house starts Oct 11th. Open house for the general public starts Oct 16th. and runs through most of November. Rededication is Dec 11th.
From the official website: "The renovated Mesa Arizona Temple is all but finished, and the official photographs have been taken—inside and out—for use in the open house news release, visitors' center, and other Church publications. The Family Discovery Center is also nearing completion where the new visitors' center is housed, featuring a beautiful cutaway model of the temple. The grounds remain closed, but a walk around the perimeter of the property offers breathtaking views of the lush landscaping and the historic temple. No information is available on when the open house and dedication may be held".
Nothing has been announced yet (April 2021).
No, unfortunately, they are not doing Christmas lights this year. I'm sorry to report.
At 1000000000 am
No there aren't but there are a few other temples available. The grounds aren't the same though
NO! It's being renovated, so all of it fenced off.
It will be having the Open House for the Temple hopefully by the end of 2020.
not right now but is a good place to take the picture.
They are doing a remodel.
It is scheduled to reopen late 2020. Watch for open house and celebration...
For clarification, Mormonism is not a Masonic sect. Also, there was a great academic paper published by Brigham Young University and Kenneth Godfrey explaining why there are similarities in Freemasonry that come up in Latter-Day Saint Temples and doctrine. I can't do it justice in a short answer, so I'll reference the academic article below: http://eom.byu.edu/index.php/Freemasonry_and_the_Temple
May 2020
Phone number is 833-1211 it is now closed for a 2 year remodel but you may be able to get ahold of someone there.
I would check the mormon channel on YouTube
It's a Mormon Temple. It differs from a church in that only Mormon church Members with an ID card can get in.
You can also look on the LDS Tools app. You have press on you individual name and then go to the "Membership Information" tab. It should be there with all your other ordinance dates.
The Christmas lights display ends at 10 p.m. each night. The last session inside the temple begins at 7:30 p.m.
Actually, the building near the Dairy Queen has been closed for quite awhile. The family history center is across the street from the temple, on the side street that's on the west side of the temple.
Yes, but the temple is not really a place to eat. There is a small cafeteria for people attending the temple, but not really a date kind of place to eat. You could bring a picnic and sit outside by the visitor's center in the garden lawn area, though not really at night during Christmas as there are a lot of people. There are however, free music concerts in December at 7pm so your date could be a concert and the lights.
The temple itself is not, but the visitor's center is open.
Thurs night, 7:30 PM, and Sat morning, 6 AM and 8:30 AM.
