I used to love living here but not anymore. I’ve lived here for a year and I’ve had no issues. The management changed and I’ve had nothing but issues. First, they tried to charge me extra fees for my garage. First of all, all I have is a normal garage. I had it for a year and then all of a sudden they tell me I have a two car garage (which is not true). And they tired to charge me extra. At first I thought it was just a mistake and it would be resolved but that wasn’t the end of it. When they finally established that my garage was just a one car garage and not a two car garage they tried to tell me that I have a storage unit attached to my garage. I don’t have that either!! They said that they would inspect my garage and I told them this has NEVER been an issue so when your manager is done inspecting it have her call me. No one ever called me. I had to go up there and they claimed they fixed it but on my account it showed other wise. I thought we had the issues resolved and I paid my correct amount I thought that was the end of it. NOPE now they are trying to say I paid late when I most definitely did not!! They just keep trying to charge me extra unnecessary fees and take advantage and they don’t care. I will not be resigning here anymore. And unless you want to get ripped off I recommend that you don’t live here because they will take advantage.

Poor and racists management, dirty common areas...dog feces throughout. Clubhouse was closed on Sunday...when most people are off...people blocking paid parking spots...management issues all around. White complaints are a priority. New changing rates without notice blaming a system glitch..Paying lots of money for them not to have better hours, better maintenance and parking...would not recommend under these conditions

Updating my review after we lived here for 13 months from 5 stars to 2 stars. We were on the second floor, 2 bedroom. Initially the first few months it was great until a couple things happened: First, the complex started to fill up and parking became impossible after 2 or 3 pm. The only available reserved parking was quite a distance from the apartment and garages were several months away before becoming available. Two, we had people move in above us and also we noticed how thin the walls are between units. Now you would think a complex built in 2020 would have some type of noise isolation but no, you could hear clearly every single footstep and many times it would wake us up. Also the walls are so incredibly thin between units that we could hear the neighbors arguing all the time or kids playing drums. Leaving at 2 stars because the apartment and complex is fairly modern (AT&T Fiber and Ethernet ports were awesome to have) and maintenance was very fast to fix issues we had. Either way, if you are the type of person that likes to have lots of people visit (Especially in the evening) and expect to not hear footsteps above you and neighbors next to you, then this isn't the complex for you.

Questions & Answers

I tried to call the office last week but no one picked up. Do you have any leasing specials going on currently (December 2021) ? Please let me know ASAP.

Lee, read my review. The office is closed on and off they say “due to Covid.” They are under new (worse) ownership. And if you don’t like it here once you move in you have to pay 5 months of rent to relet the lease (according to my lease.) New owners replaced all office staff in December. Good luck. There really are much better places to rent from. Many property management companies are buying up new homes to rent. You can always Airbnb a spare bedroom.

What is the policy for keys?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

They keys are an absolute joke! It’s my a key, it’s a key fob. Do you love the hotel key cards now days? You know how fun it is to fumble with them as your hands are full of luggage? Well, just imagine how much fun a “third time’s a charm” key fob will be with a handful of groceries or carrying a sleeping baby! Plus it’s $75 to replace a lost key fob! At least that is how my lease reads. Have a security system and love your keyless entry door knob? Well, you can kiss that good bye here!😘

What is the parking situation?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

Parking is a joke. There is no parking. Guests or prime time arrivals have to park at H-E-B. If you park along the curb you get towed or hit & run fender benders. Garages are all full. Covered parking is the only way to go, but you get door dings if you get assigned next to a truck or SUV. Plus you are locked into the rent for the garage or covered parking for your entire lease. No matter if your neighbors garage is infested with spiders, smells like spray paint or has a mouse problem!

Do you allow pets? What is the pet policy?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

Don’t walk on the grass! It’s full of poop! Pet parents don’t pick up after pets & there are not enough dog walking stations. Be prepared for untrained aggressive dogs & owners that would rather stay stuck to the cell phone than control their dogs. There is a nice walking trail behind the complex. But kids like to ride bikes on it. Be sure your dog is not afraid of bikes & scooters & is good with kids. Be careful at night. Just across 290 is high crime and it spills over into this area!

What is the smoking policy?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

😂🤣 My neighbors across the patio from us smoked and I am highly allergic! That 2nd floor mom was smoking with her teenage son! It was sad. I had to bring my son inside when we were gardening or blowing bubbles every time they were out. Two of my neighbors constantly smoked pot. One got a ticket from the police officer in my same building. The stench of cannabis reeked into my kitchen because the units have shared attic space. It came into the vent bad! Luckily I’m not allergic! 😂

Do you have package lockers/how do I get my packages?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

Plus $5 fee for every day past 48 hours you don’t pick packages up. Often carriers mess up & you get an empty locker! Even if you have deliver instructions for Amazon to deliver to your door the Amazon direct drivers put stuff in lockers. It’s beyond annoying. You don’t think about this fee till your sick or have an emergency. Suddenly charges rack up on your card. The company is impossible to get a hold of & doesn’t give refunds! So don’t get into an accident / get a gift on vacay! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is valet trash service optional?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

The trash valet is the only good thing about Alys. Those guys work hard. They take 3 bags per unit. If you break down boxes & leave them behind the trash neatly, they take them. Be good to these guys & leave a thank you card w/ a $ tip every now & then. Some bad tenants are too cheap to buy good garbage bags & stain the concrete. It’s NOT optional, but it’s worth it. Be sure to be a good neighbor & buy big black trash bags from Sams. Don’t leak it attracts bugs! There’s a ton of bugs here!

COVID changed that. It’s hit or miss with the Covid restrictions. They post a sign rather than sending out an email. The email comes days later. I never see a cleaning crew in there. Be sure to bring a towel. 🦠🤢

What leasing options are available?

Alys Crossing | Nov 5, 2021
Olivia | Feb 8, 2022

Not true anymore. New owners as of December 2021. Plus be sure to reas the fine print on the lease before you put a deposit down. You should be able to ask for a generic copy of the lease terms. My lease required 5 months paid to move out early. Most places only require 1 month paid rent & 30 days notice. Knock on some doors or leave a note & talk to tenants before you move in. Ask about bugs, mold, noise, how $ of electricity bill is on average, etc. Go on a weeknight 6-7pm see parking.
