They gave morphine to my grandpa who just had a stroke (you don't give opioids to someone who just had a heart attack or stroke, nursing 101) and he died. Then they gave my grandma a cookie when they knew she was on a mechanical soft diet. She choked and then got pneumonia and passed away. They never apologized or gave any condolences for either of them. It was a constant fight between our hospice and the staff at Oak Hill, including the nurses, who refused to follow any of the simple requests my grandparent's hospice asked. There were TWO very caring caregivers down in Spring House that we never had issues with, Trish was very helpful with the initial apartment ins and outs, and all of the receptionists there were lovely. Other than that, the staff there were unprofessional, clearly untrained, and we even witnessed a physical fight break out amongst the staff in the middle of the floor in front of visitors and residents that nothing was done about. Please don't put your loved ones here.

My mother was a Spring House resident during her last few months. Staff did an excellent job of meeting her needs and coordinating with hospice. The also communicated with us on every issue. Plus they really cared about the residents. Thank you.

I have been employed at the Laureate Group for 5 years. After my family found out that we needed to get extra care for my grandma with dementia, I knew Oak Hill Terrace was the only place for her. Not only were they very understanding and allowed me the time I needed to move her from AZ, but they did everything they could to expedite the admission process. The staff was so companionate with her and patient with me through the transition. I have worked in long term care for over 20 years and there was no other place I would have trusted to care for my family member.
