Very unprofessional. We looked up the place using Google to see if they were open. It said they were. We drove 2 hours away just to see the dogs in person and to get an update on which dogs where actually there. Once we got there, they stated they were closed for staff meeting and training. We told them google said it was open. They stated we should've checked their website. We asked just to see the dogs for a few minutes. She would t let us even after hearing about the 2 hour drive and it was my only day off from work where I was available. Very unprofessional. While we were there, a dog even escaped but they got it back. The photo is of the manager who refused to let us look us just take a look at the dogs. Also while we were their, other showed up to adopt and drop off food supplies but we're denied also. Unbelievable.

Very unprofessional experience, we will never be returning to SJRAS. No wonder their kennels are full, they burn bridges faster than they can make them.

One of the best places to adopt a pet. Staff treat the animals like family! That's a plus for me
B
This is not a "no kill" shelter
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes, there is a fee to surrender cats - $60. You'll need to call the office to schedule bring your cat in as well, as we only take animals in by appointment.
That's horrible. When my cat was dying all the vets wanted over $100 to put him down and I had to drop him off and pick up the body in the morning (which I refused, he was my best friend I wasnt gonna leave him in a strange place to die alone) The spca charged $40 and I got to be with him the whole time. Its a shame they don't do that anymore. Vets are a rip off when it comes to this.
Do usually do charge to take in animals you would have to call the shelter probably on Tuesday as tomorrow is a holiday I talk with somebody at the shelter
Call the shelter in the morning they have programs they can help you with
For adult dogs, breeds under 25lbs can be adopted for $200. This includes vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip & parasite treatment.
South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter are the best founding animals and Cumberland County N.J lost and found pets.
You would want to contact your Animal Control Officer about having the animal removed. Most ACO's work thru the local police department, or the police department can provide you with the ACO's contact information if they don't work with them directly.
I'm unsure but check there website
They have a list of the places where they are going to be vaccinating, but I understand that they do not do so.
I took my cat there n was very pleased with everything n was not expensive at all!! She was also a stray kitten so we took her in!!
You should check their website or use petfinder.com Also with any shelter they're going to have you fill out an adoption form. Most if not all animals are with foster families at the moment. Here is a link to the adoption page. https://southjerseyregionalanimalshelter.org/forms/adoption-interest-form/
Sometimes if u hang up n call back it will go threw. They are very busy sometimes .Wen u call wait on the line .🙂
God forbid that they ask for something to assist in caring for the animal you are leaving
No.
Call them, they have plenty. 🥰
Sometimes they have ferrets for adoption
You would have to ask them. Those types of pillows are easily destroyed and may have ingestible zippers and whatnot.
They also have a cat/kitten area at the Millville Petsmart in the Target mall, pricing shown. They spay and neuter before adoption, price included in adoption. For a fee, they also RFID tag cats and kittens, and if wanted, can trim claws whenever you might need them clipped, even if the cat, dog , or kitten doesn't come from them.
Our Jr volunteer program starts at 8yrs old. Jrs need a parent/guardian with them. Our adult program kicks in at 18yrs old. You can find our volunteer forms & more information on our website at SJRAS.org
Yes they foster!
Call the vet and ask.
Forgotten cats in Delaware and Pa will trap neuter and find either barn cat, feral or adoption homes. I know we gave their cats and they were well raken care of
Meet and greet with the dog and all members of household
If you call them you may be able to surrender for free if you are financially unable to afford it. That's how Gloucester County animal shelter is.
They don't contact you. If you read the email they sent you after you filled out the application it says in 24-48 hours after you submit the application you need to call them to verify approval.
No it's a shelter..
24-48 hours after that I would call and make sure it got approved 😺
There are a few different vets that work with the shelter. They've been dedicated to the animals for quite a few years and give much support to the staff.
yeah they do i saw it
We ask for the questionnaire to be completed before you visit so that the staff can have paperwork done ahead of time, that way if you find the pet you'd like to adopt then process isn't delayed by having to complete & process the questionnaire (which can take more than 24hrs if we're busy). It doesn't commit you to adopting and doesn't cost anything. But you can visit the shelter to see the cats & dogs without having done the questionnaire. As for same day adoptions, all pets must be spayed/neutered before leaving. We usually have many pets who are already fixed & could leave as soon as the paperwork is able to be processed.
I'm not sure about that you can probably go on to their website or even call them they'll have the number on the website just Google it
Yes, usually there is a fee to turn in a pet. This helps us to provide medical & other care for them until they are adopted. You would need to contact the office to discuss with them the situation & why you need to give up the dog (appointments are required). They can let you know what the fee would be, depending on the circumstances.
Thanks for asking! Yes, we can always use blankets & comforters to provide comfort for the dogs waiting for adoption! We accept new & used - used, we just ask that used bedding is clean when you drop it off. Thanks so much for thinking of the pets here at the shelter!
The website is currently displaying 37 dogs available for adoption. Perhaps your browser was slow in loading the page or you didn't scroll the frame to see the other dogs.
We're sorry to hear your pet had this experience. Not knowing the extent of your pets injuries it's really impossible for us to offer any advice. You could get in touch with our Outreach Program to see if they can offer any assistance in finding a vet with more reasonable prices or information about programs that assist owners in paying vet costs. Visit our website (http://SJRAS.org) & under PROGRAMS select OUTREACH for more information.
Unfortunately after the law change a few years ago we are not longer able to provide this service to the public, you would need to consult a veterinarian. We're sorry we can't assist you.
Is Ms. Fizzles still available
No body answer the phone call after 30 minutes waiting on a phone call. And after ring the bell just some women inside the building shows behind the door saying that cant open or help with my question. Thanks
Sometimes people have to surrender pets when they don't have a choice and they want to make sure they get adopted and loved. Or people find animals and drop them off and want to see how their story ends. Shes obviously emotionally invested and didn't want to surrender it. The shelter incourages you too call and check up on animals you drop off anyways. Dont be so quick to judge or be rude.
I believe they charge 50, but give them a call
Visit https://Southjerseyregionalanimalshelter.org and select SERVICES and then SURRENDER A PET. There is a lot of information there as well as how to start the process of surrendering your pet & the fees.
I only have used the spayed and neutered clinic never had a problem. Friendly and very good.
I would give the shelter a call and ask them. 😔
I know in Salem co there is a no kill animal shelter. We got our dog from SJ regional animal shelter and they were nice people and the dogs were happy and well taken care of. I'm not sure if they are no kill though.
They have many different types but don't write off pitbulls without doing your homework. They are amazing, loving dogs!
Animal control for your area.
keep trying will he eat
I am not sure You can call the shelter
I am sure they do
I didn't work there I suggest that you do a meeting with the family and the staff to see if they have a special dog for you 😊
Check out their website for information and fees. But I believe so.
The spcca is not open but call 911 and tell them that you need help for your dog and they should send police and animal welfare people to you
Spca or Humane Society local tell him they will come and get them
I don't know about that but I do know they are over run with cats and kittens right now so they may not be able to take them. I'd call first.
I believe they're 50 a piece, or there about, I adopted two from here about a year ago. May make it a third soon ;)
U can call the SPCA...it gives u options when u call. One is to report animal neglect. Please call. This is abuse. It way to hot. Xo
Sheila Murillo, No I do not I have a Yorkie
You will have to ask then.
Shot clinic is the 3rd Saturday of every month and the vaccine cost $15. 9am-12pm. Check out SJRAS.org/events
Give the office a call at 856-691-1500 and check with them to make sure the kitten is at the building. We sometimes will use a foster home to give them a better start (kittens are more susceptible to getting sick at the shelter because they're exposed to so many other animals). Being only 4 weeks old also means that additional assosted feedings may be needed, so thats anothed reason we maight use a foster home. If the kitten is in foster care you wouldn't be able to visit, but double check with the office to make sure that's the case.
We do microchip anytime during business hours for only $40. The price includes lifetime registration of the chip. Once implanted the chip cannot be removed.
It would most likely be considered animal cruelty and you should get video of it then contact your county prosecutor or HLEO officer.
Yes there is a surrendering fee
We don't have free spay/neuter for cata, but our clinic is low cost. In addition, our office staff can tell you about various programs in the area that can reduce the cost even more. Please visit our website http://SJRAS.org or call our office during business hours at 856-691-1500
They do. I believe they do for puppies, like the kitten cuddlers but I am unsure on the specifics with dogs. I do know however that they foster out for very ill dogs that need closer care.
Call the shelter
You may want to check with your township first. They may have a free rabies shots event. We just did our cats a couple of weeks ago in our area. Also take a look at your local Tractor Supply store they do a PetVet clinic.
Yes
They place a sign out on the road for two weeks before the clinic, or just call them. The price rate is listed on price list webpage, and offers options, like add-on distemper, nail trimming, and RFID chipping to locate lost pets.
You should give them a call as they do have several programs to help you
You would need to contact your Animal Control officer & have them bring it in as a stray (or give us the okay to take it from you if you were to bring it in) if it is from one of the cities/townships we contract with. What city was it found in?
Our shot clinics only run May-October, so that would not be an option, but we offer rabies shots at the time that they are being fixed if you were planning on having them fixed at our low cost clinic. You can find the costs & more information on our website http://southjerseyregionalanimalshelter.org/services/svc-snclinic/
You can try contacting your animal control officer, but if the animal is a variety of wildlife (such as a squirrel or raccoon) you will more than likely need to contact an exterminator since animal control mainly deals with domestic animals/pets.
Not much call them
Wow, not sure. Maybe get the neighbors to start calling also.
How much does it cost to register a dog?
Sorry no idea their website may state the cost if not call them
We have a low cost spay/neuter clinic that operates year round, and we offer low cost vaccine clinics May-October, but at this time those are the only vet services we provide. More info on either of these can be found on our website SJRAS.org
Tags? Do you mean microchips?

Call the police, and your local Animal Control Officer.
You need to call them.
Yes they will. Call first.
You have to go through training, but yes
No
I don't know if they offer discounts but they are great people to deal with
6 months and under $250-375. Each puppy is vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, spayed or neutered, microchipped and assigned an ID tag before going to it's new home. Puppy adoptions fees are higher due to increased number of vaccines given and extra supplies necessary to care for them while in our care. 7 months and up $150. Each dog is vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm tested, spayed or neutered, given a rabies shot, microchipped and assigned an ID tag before going to it's new home.
Bravecto for fleas? You would need to check with your regular veterinarian.
Call the office and ask they are very helpful i adopted my 🐕 dog (son) from them very patient and understanding people proud 🐕 dog mom
Citizens finding stray animals are directed to contact their local ACO to have the animal picked up and taken to the appropriate holding facility. If you do not know who your ACO is contact your local police department or municipal building and ask them. We cannot take strays directly from citizens. Each municipality requires that the ACO for that area bring the stray animal in due to the possibility that a stray animal could be rabid and not yet displaying symptoms
We do charge adoption fees to help offset the cost of the care & medical treatment the animals receive before being adopted. The adoption fee helps to pay for the vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip and parasite treatments that each animal receive in order to be adopted.
Believe so. Don't know price . Call them
If his household earns less than 40,000 a year, an animal group will help with the spay and neuter. I asked yesterday while at the office picking up my now neutered cat. They can give you the name and the forms to contact the group and apply.
The over population of cats is an unfortunate reality. Our shelter takes in about 3500 cats each year. We find homes for many of them, and transfer as many to other shelters where they have a bigger human population to adopt to. Still, with all our efforts there are still cats that are put to sleep due to health problems, behavior problems, or the sheer lack of available space at the shelter. So yes, we do euthanize, but only when we have NO other option.
Ron's animal shelter in Norma will take animals free of charge if you live in Cumberland county - its a no kill shelter
Yes you can they charge you a fee and fill out some paperwork
They accept owner surrender of ferrets for a fee. They adopt out ferrets as well. For small animals, your best bet will be to call and ask what is available when you are ready to try and find one. As of early December, they had no ferrets on site.
Adoption fees for kittens 6 months & under is $110.00. That includes their vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip & parasite treatments.
Surgery days vary, but most often are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. You must schedule an appointment with our office or on our website, but generally you drop off in the morning & pick up that same afternoon.
Yes you to sign a sheet to get it
Call them directly. I don't know their rates off the top of my head.
I will keep my eye out
Guinea Pigs are usually $40 at the local pet stores. For shelter, call and check their availability. I also believe there is a shelter near Galloway that handles small animals such as guineas and rats.
I've been asking the same question I have been calling since Friday because my dog is having complications after neutering and NO ONE is answering the phone!!!!! It's now Monday!!!!!
If it is a stray animal there is no charge, but you need to contact your Animal Control Officer to get their ok to bring the animal to the shelter yourself (instead of the ACO picking the animal up). If it is YOUR animal, then there is a fee to help pay for the care (food/vaccines/medication) that the animal will receive while it is in our care & looking for a new home. The amount of the fee depends on the size/type of animal.
We are required to hold strays & owner surrenders for 7 days. After the 7 days theycan be adopted, transferred to another facility or rescue or put down. But just because they CAN be put down after 7 days doesn't mean they ARE. Generally as long as we have kennel space available and the animal is friendly we keep them up for adoption. We have had dogs stay at the shelter as long as 6 months or more until they were adopted. So basically there isn't a set amount of time. We do everything possible to NOT put animals down.
