I have eaten at several steakhouses before with very mixed impressions, but Taste of Texas Is honestly one of the very rare places I fully enjoyed. The place is indeed pricy, but the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service is 5-star throughout. I even enjoyed eating their spinach saute! The atmosphere has this feeling of being inside a cabin. A definite treat to be there during the winter seasons. I'm posting this during early November, and they have really gone full out with their seasonal decorations. The staff there are very kind and gave us the right amount of attention to both take care of our table and allowing us time to enjoy the food. The one advice I have is: make sure you make your reservations early! The place is very busy and full when we arrived. I imagine that's mostly the case on Friday nights and weekends. So, make your reservations early. Conclusion: a pricy, but well worth every penny restaurant. A fantastic place for dates and anniversaries, but still suitable to families as well. Food is top notch. It is very hard to not like something there. If you want to take someone to somewhere special and able to splurge, come to Taste of Texas.

Yes but they where super relaxed about it. I went in with jeans and a collard shirt with no issues.
You won't be disappointed...The atmosphere is just all around great! Great for groups, individuals, romance. They have you covered and the food is delicious! The best salad bar in town. Enjoy!!
they do not make reservations and if they open at Christmas
Yes. Plenty!
a
They are open Christmas eve, no reservations are made. So, arrive early.
Very casual, you will see variety of dressed up and dressed down. Dress up shorts and collared shirt is appropriate
I have celebrated several birthdays here, including some of my own. Tell them and you will get a free dessert. And yes, they will sing to you. It's a great place for any celebration, and even for a small, romantic celebration, in my opinion.
Yep, I would be!
Only if you want to be spoiled.
I don't see why not, just call them and make the reservation. By the way, Happy Birthday Carolyn !
Tables are separated by using one and keeping the other tables nearest empty. The servers are masked and gloved. Even the salad is made by a server that is covered head-to-toe. Because of that there is never direct human touching the bread and salad bar, barehanded.
They can. Having larger parties of six or eight is quite normal. They will make an arrangement for as many people as you need.
There is a dress code but when i went i had on cargo pants and a polo shirt and nothing was said about the way I was dressed.
I believe they do. Just give them a call.
Friday is usually a long wait unless you get there early
Unfortunately TOT does not accept reservations....
Reservations are best but you can also go without one but wait time will be long. However, they do have a small gift shop
I think it does not sell steak sauce
Just call...
yes
No, to my knowledge, the beef is not sourced in that manner. However, the beef is very select with finer cuts being made from within other fine cuts. However, from my experience the steaks have been no better than a Texas Roadhouse or Outback. For a nice piece of natural, organic beef, I recommend trying Local Table, and yes there is a difference in taste between natural and chemical.
COVID safety practices are top notch. We weren't near anyone else. Employees all masked, proper distances maintained at all times. It was a very nice dining experience
I dont think they deliver
The salad bar is top notch and its included.
I've only been there once, in early December of 2019, at noon, and we had no reservations but were seated immediately.
Some ladies were dressed up nice and some were very casual. The restaurant didn't seem to mind either way.
Agreed,. About $100 for 2 especially if you have any drinks.
If they didn't before they do now. I made reservations for my wife's birthday
Not that I am aware of. Contact them.
Yes. They have a full bar with top-shelf liquor and an amazing wine selection
A ticket for what? You don't need tickets, just your wallet
3 pm
No, it is cooked how you want it cooked. But even if you order a rare steak (which I don't) this is the kind of place you order it from.
I think they serve both! After you order, they will take you back to the kitchen so you could select your own meat/cut! Always take your steak with the garlic butter on top!!
Pay at the Location
Ah, people here are confused. For the field trip students and parents tour the entire restaurant including the kitchen area, with sharp objects abound. This may include a trip inside the massive walk-in fridge. (Used to, not sure about now.) I've been on the tour and worked in similar kitchens, this is a terrible event for a toddler to attend. AWESOME for an elementary school student. The request that toddlers be left at home for this tour is a matter of safety and liability, nothing more. Sure, you might be an A1 awesome parent who uses a proper leash or harness for your toddler in public, but someone else at some point wasn't and messed it up for everyone. For regular dining that isn't the field trip, they have high chairs and such for toddlers when needed, but any reasonable adult would hire a sitter before bringing a toddler to a restaurant like Taste.
This was on their website: Please Note: The Taste of Texas ships on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Perishable orders placed on Wednesdays after noon Central time will ship the following Monday. https://www.tasteoftexas.com/steaks/
11 Pm. Eleven in the evening
Don't know, but you can call to get their hours.
If you meant automatic gratuity (tip) I believe it is parties of 8 our larger.
No the menus are the same BUT the dishes are all delicious and worth every penny I've spent here.
Yes! And the desert they brought out was so pretty! Happy Early Birthday to you!
They have never taken reservations. Everyone's equal...first come, first served
A few years back they sent out a letter that some people didn't like seeing people in shorts so they were requesting that you don't wear shorts.
You need to try their steaks and taste yourself
They do have a full bar. One of their desserts is a boozy ice cream shake. I would imagine if they offer that, a frozen daiquiri would be no problem
During the week it opens at 11, and on the weekends they open at 3. It's continuous service.
Yes, of course. But it's probably a miss steak.
90-100 dollars. If you and your spouse both order steaks.
This is a steak restaurant, but they do have an incredible salad bar, amazing side veggies (asparagus, broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts, spinach, potatoes 4 different ways...), and several seafood items for pesce-tarians...
Yes. Whoever you gift it to will not be disappointed!!
