Amazing variety of birds and native plants, as well as some nice views. Fantastic for nature photographers. Note that dogs are not allowed.

Great bird watching all year long (especially the geese in winter), and well maintained trails that meander through oaks and open fields.

It makes for a nice walk. There’s also an observation point with a (free) viewer telescope thingy.

Beautiful park for a natural scenic open space for birds. We definitely will be going many more times. Winter sunny day was very nice. Not crowded. There are two picnic tables at the viewing area near the parking lot. There is one picnic table near the trail area parking lot. I did not see any bathrooms.

From the website: "The refuge was named for George J. Baskett, an early Willamette Valley Settler..."
It is beautiful
I've seen people there after dark and stopped there after dark and never had an issue. I think work case scenario if a cop were to stop by (which is HIGHLY unlikely) they would just ask you to head out. I've never seen the gate close.
Exactly as Cathy answered. Visit throughout the year for different experiences. Bring binoculars or a camera with zoom features for the best view.
restrooms there and open
I don't go on the trail i stay up by the view point building. I wouldn't take a stroller down on the trail it it very muddy about half way out on the field and looks like a swamp land right now .
There are trails from about a mile to around three miles. To different address points, one on Coville Rd. And one on the road North of there. Forget the name at the moment.
There really isn't anyplace to ride a bike. It's just the gravel lot and a little wood gazebo thing that has infographics about the birds you're likely to see.
Audubon society will help.
The refuge was named after a early Willamette settler George Baskett.
They aren't as many their anymore because they where eating endangered grass species and we had a open hunt on geese their
It is a park with trails and there are no kiosks or anything being actively managed by any employees. It is definitely open. Having said that, I did see 1 Reserve shut the trails down during the government shutdown which was embarrassingly stupid. It's a trail for God's sake.
There are sucker fish in the canals but you can't fish there.
