Was actually a lot less painful than I expected. I didn't have an appt. The ladies were super helpful and friendly

By all means try to go to a diffrent dmv. They're slow, rude, and are not organized at all. They accepted a walk in right in front of me. They lost my appointment somehow. So i asked if i could become a walk in. They said i could in 3 hours that they couldnt help me right now. They're public servants that have to make everything so complicated and hard on everybody. You have the easiest job ever you're a desk receptionist. Help people out, we pay your salaries.

Other than the wait it was ok

This office staffs are so courteous to support on the process / requirements for the person appearing for Driving License. The person at 'here to help' is so polite and thanks to them.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Address is 1650 Delaware Crossing behind the Kroger Building
Thank you so much 😊
Also the system accommodates but isn’t designed specifically to work around high school hours. Not everyone that gets a license is in high school.
Yes if you want the regular drivers license. For the Real ID you will need to make an appointment at the regional office in Burlington. You will need additional documents there if you don’t currently have a Real ID
Yes 8 am to 4 pm. We are closed from 11:50 to 12:30 for lunch.
It depends if you have had an ID before. If this is the first time you will need your original social security card and either a birth certificate or passport.
You will have to contact the County Clerks office as they issue handicap placards. Their phone number is 392-1600
Katie, the new Travel License is not currently available. The Ky Department of Transportation is responsible for rolling them out and have said they will be available by the end of summer. A passport is always available to serve as an ID for any travel. I would contact the airport for information on travel after July 21st of this year, assuming we do not get an extension. If we get an extension your current non-expired license will be valid until October 2020.
I don't know if you need documents to renew but I would just bring them just in case and definitely make an appointment! They are 3-4 weeks out on available appointments right now so the soonest you will get an appointment will be around the end of July. We were walk ins at 820 am a week and a half ago and we had to wait in the car in the parking lot for 3.5 hours before they got us in to renew our licenses. If you have an appointment, you get in and out a lot faster. Good luck! 🙂
If you are in the system, issued recently you just need one proof of identity- passport , birth certificate or social security card.
Yes. The W-2 must include the entire Social Security number not just the lower last four digits
You must pay your $40 reinstatement fee on-line at www.drive.ky.gov. You can then come to our office on Delaware Crossing or the regional Transportation Office in Burlington. The certificate must be submitted to the Dept of Transportation. We are not able to take it at our office.
You need to make a testing appointment with the State Police in their web site at www.Kentuckystatepolice.org.
No pursuant to Ky law you must also have your original social security card with your certified birth certificate and proof of residence.
Yes. You need to make an appointment with the KY State Police to take the written test. If they were suspended you need to make sure you have resolved the reason for suspension. You can make an appointment at www.Kentucky state police.org.

Go to Kentucky state police .org 🤣😂
You need your Texas license, certified copy of your birth certificate, original social security card and a piece of mail dated within the last 60 days with your Kenton County Address. You can go to our location behind Kroger in Independence M-F 8 am - 4 pm closed 11:50-12:30 for lunch. If you want the Real ID Compliant license you will need to go to the DOT office in Burlington and bring those documents plus one additional (2 total) pieces of mail.

You can walk in i was just there
I do believe so

By Supreme Court order we are doing it by appointment only. You can find the link on our website www.drivekenton.org. If you do not have a change in address/name and do not have a commercial drivers license you should renew by mail. You can find the form on our website. Yes. We are open Monday-Friday (excepting holidays) from 8 am to 4 pm (closed 11:50-112:30 for lunch) If the drivers license is still in our system, she would just need some proof of identity- social security card, birth certificate, passport. If she is no longer in the system we need the original social security card, certified copy of birth certificate and a piece of mail dated in last 60 days with her current address.
If you do not have a change of address or name and don’t have a CDL, print out the form on our website www.drivekenton.org and drop off or mail it to us with payment and we will mail you your license. If you want a REAL ID compliant license you will need to get that through the DOT office in Burlington.
You can make an appointment if you want.
Are you eligible for your license? If so make an appointment with the Kentucky State Police (you can find a link on our website www.drivekenton.org) to take the drivers test.
Thank you for replying, I did make a appt. Because my address has changed. Have a safe n blessed Thanksgiving!
We are open by appointment only. You can make an appointment on our website www.drivekenton.org. If you are renewing and don’t have a CDL or change of address you must renew by mail. You can get the form on the website or pick up from either DL location.

Yes. We are open 8 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday and closed 12-12:45 for lunch. We are experiencing a high call volume.
My god can you make it any more complicated? For decades all you had to do was show up .
That is through the County Clerks office. They are only open in Covington right now
These are all correct. We are supposed to do it by appointment only but do take walk ins. If you don’t have a CDL and haven’t changed your address you can renew by mail. There is a lot of information on our website www.drivekenton.org
For testing yes. Call Ky State Police. For license renewal or change of address it does help but isn’t necessary right now.
Title questions should go to the County Clerk. You may contact them at 859-392-1600. Motorcycle testing is done in person through the Kentucky State Police. You may reach them at 1-844-253-5680
Website is drivekenton.org. You may also be eligible to renew by mail.
Yes you do need an appointment with State Police. You do not need an appointment with our office to process your paperwork
We do not do driver testing. We are told that the State Police will call those that were previously scheduled before the virus to re-schedule then have an on line option going forward. This will slow down the number of written/permit tests.
We need more information. But you will need an appointment if you need to come in. Some licenses are being renewed by mail if you expire between March 1 and June 30 or have a lost or stolen license.
Unfortunately the Real ID compliant licenses are only being issued in Frankfort. Good news is Feds have extended deadline for compliance until October 2021
We do not do car registrations, just the picture licenses. If you live in Kenton County, you can contact the County Clerk at 392-1600.
You have to call the DMV in independence and make an appointment
Yes you have the correct documents. We are doing it by appointment only. You may make an appointment here: https://secure.kentucky.gov/booking.web/Event/Book/162
If your license expired 3/1-6-30 or your license was lost or stolen, you must renew by mail. Go to our website www.drivekenton.org and print out and mail to 1655 Delaware Crossing Independence, Ky 41051. If you don’t fall into that category you must appear in person by appointment only. Call 356-5925 or watch our website for an on-line scheduling option.
Our office does not perform the driver testing. That function is done by the State Police. You may reach them at (844) 253-5680.
The KY Dept of Transportation is now handling those licenses. We are told they willl be issued regionally with the likely NKy location being in Florence. Last timeline we heard was late spring. they announced this week that anyone could go to Frankfort and get the new license. Check the DOT website to make sure you have all the documents you need.
No we are up today. Sorry for the inconvenience. It was a national issue.
Martin Luther Kind Day is a State holiday. All offices of the Kenton Circuit Clerk, including drivers license will be closed on that date.

Not at our office. You will need to contact the County Clerk at 859-392-1600
Unfortunately the Circuit Clerks office just deals with Drivers License (picture ID’s). While we are open on Saturday the County Clerks Office who does title transfers is not. You may phone them on weekdays at 392-1600.
Visit this website for information on the graduated license program: https://drive.ky.gov/driver-licensing/Pages/Graduated-Driver-Licensing-Program.aspx
The additional is $6.
Unfortunately we do not sell fishing licenses.
Don't know what number you were calling but the correct number is 859-356-5925. This is for the Independence Driver's License Location.
We are closed holiday weekends. Monday is Martin Luther King Day.
We do not do auto transfers, we issue the picture license/ID. I do not believe the County Clerk is open on Saturdays.
Not sure the question you are asking- if you are asking if you can renew your license here or get a new drivers license/state ID, yes you can. If you are asking about the new Travel ID that is Real ID Compliant, those are not available now and will not be issued in Kenton County until at least February (likely later) of 2019.
No we are closed for the holiday weekend. We will re-open at 8 am Monday. Check our website www.drivekenton.org for times and closing information.
Unfortunately the State Police do not give the drivers test on Saturdays. Check our website www.drivekenton.org for their hours.
No. That is through the County Clerk's office. They have two locations- one at the old Independence Courthouse on Madison Pike and the other at the Kenton Co Administration Building 303 Court Street in Covington. You can call them at 392-1600. Our office does the drivers license- the picture ID.
Yes 8 am to 4 pm.
You will need to be able to prove your identity using one of the documents found on our website www.drivekenton.org under the lost/stolen tab.
License plates are done through the County Clerk’s office. Our office is the Circuit Clerk‘s and we do the drivers license, picture ID. You can contact the County Clerk at 392-1600.

Jody, We do not do car tags. We do the drivers license picture ID. You can call the County Clerk Gabe Summe at 859-392-1600 to see if they are open tomorrow. Our Independence office typically open on Saturdays is closed tomorrow for the holiday weekend. Thanks. John Middleton, Kenton Circuit Clerk
Yes we are open regular hours, 8 am to 4 pm Primary Election Day.
Certified mail showing ky address, at least. Call and verify for anything else
No. We only do the driver’s license (picture ID). The car tags Ate done by the County Clerk at the old Courthouse on Madison Pike in Independence or the County Building on Court Street in Covington.
Nope
As long as its the first renewal you can just pay. If not you will have to retest. Or if it is over a year, you will have to take the vision and written test.
Usually 12 dollars
That would be cutting it close.
I don't believe they monitor this so you may kit get a reply. Calling would be best, but I'd hazard a guess anyone can bring them in.
Independence courthouse, around back I suppose. Drivers license office behind krogers is only for license and test.
