The river rafting is great, but you need to haul your raft about two blocks...with stuff in the boat, it is a heavy lift. They are well organized to handle the customers.

Great rafting experience on the American River. We spent about four hours lazily floating down the river and had a wonderful time. We rented a "10-person" raft for our party of six and it was a very good size. Of note, you can definitely swim in the river but it's challenging to get back into the raft without someone strong onboard or jumping in at one of the shallow areas. Definitely bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and other coverings to avoid overexposure. The river was full of rafts but it rarely felt too crowded. Highly recommended!

Yes, I don't recommend bringing pets or small children. If you do, please make sure the dog is wearing a doggie lifevest. There are a few rapids and swift, cold snowmelt water, so please, be careful. Have a great, safe trip.
There was for me and totally worth it. We went for six hours so expect a slow ride and lift your butts for some part. But totally worth it. Just pack enough "supplies" to last the trip. Oh don't forget sunscreen. Haha.
I wouldn't it can be a party like crowd on that part or the river.
