Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. I didn’t eat before I went so they asked me to go and get a meal first and come back and donate my blood. No problems with inserting the needle. No discomfort. And snacks at the end! From now on I will eat a big meal before I go, and make sure I drink plenty of fluids. Great staff, nice atmosphere and the reclining chairs are great. I’ll consider doing the double reds and plasma for future donations too.

Love going here. Glad I can start back giving blood. It's an easy way to help others every 2 months. And the snack/drinks are good afterward. 😁

I tried to donate blood yesterday at Bloodworks Northwest. This was my second time. I had successfully done so last Summer. But a clot formed soon after the needle was inserted. The technician fumbled around and called another person to help. But they were unable to fix the problem. They were nonchalant. I asked them if I could have done anything different, but they said "no." They really did not have much to say otherwise. And they sent me home.

The volunteers have always been kind and professional. The workers are professional and make polite conversation. I love that they have blankets, heated pads and iPads for donors to use during the donation. I can usually just walk in, but making appointments is easy. The center isn't too easy to spot from the road, yet there is plenty of parking.

There's a notebook questionnaire to fill in before the bloodwork that's mostly yes or no answers. You don't have to bring anything. Eat something before you go and drink lots of water so you're hydrated.
No, please do not fast. It's recommended that you have a full hearty meal an hour or two before you donate. And hydration is important. Drink at least 30 to 40 oz of water.
Appointments are certainly welcome and prioritized for processing, but the do take walk-in donations as well.
The Tukwila location moved and is now in Renton (near Ikea)
The Blood Bank accepts donations of A, B, O, and AB (positive and negative for all).
As long as it is being maintained at a healthy rate and you are not taking any of the anti platelets or anti coagulants in their list, you can donate. I'd recommend you come in and go through the screening process, it only takes about 15 minutes and you'll know for sure
Yes, in self satisfaction that you have unconditional contributed to improving a person's life.
