I went here to get my trumpet replated. It was in playable condition but the wear around the hands was definitely bad. It was a mostly aesthetic repair for sentimental reasons, which I mentioned to them. It originally came back with incorrect plating; it was all silver, but originally had silver *and* some gold accents. I'd specifically been told that it would come back looking like it did when it was made. I asked them to send it back and they did. They always respond super quick!! The staff is really kind. 💙 I just got it back again, and there are some gold smears. It's quite minor and I don't want to be too picky, but it's a very, very clear step down in quality from its original plating. However, the decorative etching did turn out nice (I was worried it'd get buffed out) and it plays well. Overall, for $1,253 and four separate, three+ hour trips I'm kinda bummed. For what it's worth, I was told that was the first and last time they'd be using that plating company. I looked them up and they usually have great reviews. I'm sure this was a fluke and, while I won't be coming here again, I'm sure the vast majority of other customers will be happy.

I contacted Marie Rice from out of the US. I shipped my flute to her for a total overhaul. Marie was a consummate professional. She answers communications and respond quickly. Her work on my instrument was exceptional. She made a 40 year old flute look and sound brand new. I highly respect and recommend her service. In Harmony!

Great shop loaded with caring professionals! Marie is awesome and her knowledge and passion for her craft was immediately evident! I brought her a near 100 yr old sliver plated brass clarinet that was my dad's as a child and after their care, it looks and plays absolutely beautiful. I retired the case it was stored in and it now sits in my music room on a proper stand and is the shining star of the room.

We stopped by to rent a clarinet for my son. They had prepped one in advance for him to try. Both folks in the shop were extremely knowledgeable. They were happy to let him sit in the practice room and try out the instrument, and help him through the initial (inevitable) squawks. It was great, and my son is happily working his way through the book while we look for an instructor. I highly recommend checking out Seattle Sound for your brass and woodwind needs.

Questions & Answers

I have an old Buffet B-flat clarinet, serial # 52572. The joint connecting the two main sections is damaged, which causes the bottom half to drop off occasionally. Can that be fixed?

Should be repairable. Take it in and have them look and confirm!

Does this store sell more exotic instruments such as oboe?
