SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh Southside Works

2.5 STARS - Rooms were spacious and staff was very nice BUT... the rooms unfortunately were not very clean and the wifi barely worked and I had to rely on my celluar hotspot during my stay. This hotel is pretty expensive too. However, I will say, this hotel is in a nice location, we had a beautiful view of the river and the Cathedral of Learning right from our window. There is a walking trail right next to the hotel but there are train tracks so you can hear the train a lot, it did not wake me up in the night at all however I saw some other reviews saying it woke them up. If you are looking to go into the outskirts of Pittsburgh or want to be near the Pittsburgh football stadiums, this is a good location. Breakfast was typical, tip for improvement I wish they had peanut butter. However, due to my experience here, I do not think that I will stay here again next time I am in Pittsburgh.

Positive: The room was spacious and nicely furnished. Negative: The beds are horrible, like lying on a board. The pillows were flat, so sleeping wasn't the best experience I've ever had at a hotel.

Room was nice except for the unpleasant surprise they left in the toilet. Obviously housekeeping missed cleaning the toilet. Became rewards members when we booked our room and they gave our points to the couple that was traveling with us instead of our new account . Overall not happy with our first experience staying at a Marriott hotel.

Hotel is right next to the train tracks and trains are plying all night and blast the horn when around the hotel. I am not a light sleeper and yet could hear 5 trains pass by. Beds are uncomfortable as they sag in the center. Sofa had gummies on them so it wasn't cleaned. They charge $22 for parking which is not advertised anywhere. Breakfast was good.
