Super clean and organized, the kid that works here was very nice and helpful in getting things placed correctly and what to do with the recycling they couldn't take at this location.

OMG, I love this place! A little bit of a drive from where I live, but worth it. Easy to use, super clean and the staff is helpful. Great for recycling glass and other items not picked up curbside. Will be returning.

Aggressive employees—beware. Employee threw hardened plastic container lid at my windshield when my vehicle was (seemingly) unattended. Employee became even more aggressive when confronted about behavior: yelling, beating on car window as I pulled away. Employee is probably still there. Little to no accountability. Find somewhere SAFE to do your part to reduce trash from the environment <—this is not that safe place….

The staff here are awesome and always so helpful! They answer any questions I have and will even help me sort my recycling. I really love this place, every city needs a recycling center this awesome!

You can call any private garbage hauler who also offers curbside recycling. Some of these may offer pickup at commercial establishments, however, most will only offer residential service (for a fee). Or, try to find out from the stadium who their vendors are, and then call and see if they'll offer service to other locations in the area. Recycling is a business, and the markets are fairly weak right now, so it may be difficult to find companies who want to invest in the transportation infrastructure that this would require. Good luck!
Sorry, but we don't pay for anything. FYI, you won't be able to sell your plastic bottles anywhere in Georgia, as this is a state-mandated deposit where you pay extra for the drink when you buy it, and receive a few cents when you return the bottle, but Georgia doesn't do this. Look on the side of your bottle for a list of states that participate in this deposit program.
We do not accept carpet for recycling.
Our facility doesn't require residency within the City of Smyrna, anyone is welcome to drop off accepted recycled material here. We do accept cardboard for recycling and there is no fee. The only items with fees are TVs, monitors, and paint.
Umm…wha?
If it is one of the easily recycled plastics, there are bins for those. Hard-to-recycle plastics have to go in a Hefty Energy Bag and there is a drop-off there.
Hi Natalie, our hours on Saturday are 8:00am-4:00pm. The only times we are closed on Saturdays are those before Monday holidays like Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc. We do not accept any trash, only specific materials for recycling listed at https://keepsmyrnabeautiful.com/recycling-center/.
We do accept microwaves, however, the glass plate needs to be removed. We are a drop off facility only and do not have a pickup service. To clarify from the answer provided by someone below: the recycling center is open for anyone who wants to drop off items, you do not have to be a resident of the city.
No, we do not pay for any of the materials that we accept for recycling.
Yes, cardboard boxes can be broken up. We do not pick up any material. All material must be dropped off during our open hours.
Yes, we will be open regular hours.
As of October 7th our hours are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: Closed Wednesday: 8am-4pm Thursday: 10am-6pm Friday: 8am-4pm Saturday: 8am-4pm
Yes, but only food-grade jars and bottles -- no dishes, vases, candles, flat glass, etc.
You should keep glass (food-grade jars and bottles only), metal, aluminum cans, plastics #1 and #2 (look for the symbol on the bottom) and paper (cardboard, drink carriers and mixed paper) separate from each other. Stow the glass, metal and aluminum cans in your car first, since they'll be taken out last. Stow the plastics and paper in your car where you'll be able to get to them first. On your first time in the Center, feel free to come & ask for help, and we'll be glad to show you around & answer any questions.

I have been there twice doing the hours of operation posted on their site. I'm very disappointed with the set-up because they expect you to do all of the sorting which can be tedious and time consuming. I plan to find another recycling center that is not set up where I have to do the actual sorting.
We do accept fluorescent bulbs, as long as they are from your home and not your business. Also, we can't take broken bulbs. Thanks for the question!
Yes, we do accept water bottles. Please remove the lids. Thank you Tiffany for answering!
We accept cooking oil and motor oil, but we do not accept gasoline, kerosene, lighter fluid, etc. Check with the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) in Atlanta -- 404-600-6386.
No, we haven't been able to find anyone locally who can process rags. These are usually made into carpet (among other products), so there are some rag processors in the Dalton area, but they won't pick up from as far away as Smyrna. We are still working on it though.
No, we don't recycle bubble wrap, but some UPS stores accept bubble wrap to be re-used if it's in good condition. Call them first, as some stores don't accept it.
No, recycling bins are available at the Smyrna Public Works Department. They can be reached at 770-431-2850.
You don't have to sort your electronics, and we can help you unload them.
Anyone can recycle with us, but we don't allow people to take anything from the bins
Not that I'm aware. I know WABE does and will even come pick it up.
No, but you can bring your tree to the Home Depot on Cumberland Parkway ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 5 and it will be chipped up. This happens every year on the Saturday after New Years Day.
