My experience would be closer to a 2.5, but I bumped to a 2 because while I am overall satisfied with my experience so far, there are serious deficits I've been privy to since move-in. The apartments are overall very nice, all of my neighbours are friendly, and the property is quiet (though I can often hear the crying and screaming from my next door neighbor's children, which can be aggravating as someone who works from home). My apartment itself has a wonderful view of the woods and gets amazing sunlight, and most of the fixtures are updated and sleek. It's also very close to great food, and isn't far from 285/75, so travel is smooth. The move in process, however, left much to be desired. Applying and getting my keys were no problem, but the "move-in ready apartment" was in fact not completely move in ready. The bathtub/shower had major peeling and needed resurfacing; it looked dirty when I moved in and despite a good cleaning by myself, it's still pretty grungy. While the office staff has put me on a list to have the bathtub resurfaced/replaced, advertising this as "move-in ready" is a bit of a misnomer. Additionally, the homes are all equipped with SmartRent door locks, thermostat, and water leak detectors, which is overall nifty. The issue arose when I called SmartRent customer service to have the necessary hub configured and they notified me that my hub was not showing up on their end, and after troubleshooting, we determined my apartment's hub was missing. I called up to the MAA Spring front office about the issue and went through the same troubleshooting/trying to identify the normal areas for the hub and when I expressed I didn't believe my apartment had one, the response was "I've worked here for over a year, we couldn't have moved you in if your apartment didn't have a hub." The leasing agent sent someone from maintenance to check my apartment (which, as an aside, the maintenance crew has been friendly, helpful, and prompt with requests thus far), and alas, the maintenance crew member agreed with me - I in fact did not have a hub installed in my unit. While the maintenance crew member returned less than 20 minutes later with the necessary hub, I never received an apology for the condescending response I'd originally received from the front office. When SmartRent customer service informed me that the front office would need to call to have the hub reconfigured to the devices in my unit and I relayed this message to them, I was met with much confusion - which makes the condescending response I'd received previously regarding the hub even more grating. While I was able to get someone to configure the door, they failed to configure the water leak sensors and thermostat, which required me to make another call to SmartRent to make sure everything was properly configured to my home. Lastly, I was notified that roller skating is not allowed at the tennis court due to it having been resurfaced recently and "skates messing up the finishing" but...as a seasoned skater, I know that the marks wash off with the rain. That's almost like saying chalk isn't allowed on the sidewalk because it messes it up. Additionally, I'm not understanding why skate marks would be a larger aesthetic concern when acid from the spots of vomit and spit and the marks from what looked (and smelled) like dog pee are more likely to cause lasting damage to the surface of the courts. Further, there is no sign, nor anywhere in my lease that I can locate that says the tennis court can't be used for activities outside of tennis. While I would respect others who want to play tennis on the court, I went at a time where it was completely vacant, and the reservation board outside of the courts was completely clear, so that wasn't the issue. The pavement in the parking lots near my building and the front office are a bit too inconsistent to feel comfortable skating there, but I will scope out an area of the premises that hopefully doesn't have a lot of car traffic or is at least smooth and flat enough to skate on and dodge any cars that come my way.

You won’t find another apartment complex like this. It’s quiet, the grounds are always spotless and maintenance responds extremely quickly

Every community handles resident communication independently, but a good place to start is the MAA site and the Resident Login portal. Not only can residents pay rent online, they can submit and track service requests, check out online deals, and stay connected to news and events in their community.
Most of our communities are pet friendly and offer an array of amenities catered to pets, like pet washing stations and Bark Parks. Check out community pages for pet policies or learn more by visiting our website!
In general, you should hear from a leasing agent within 48 hours, but please note, processing times can be different from community to community.
MAA has added virtual tours and self-guided tours in addition to in person with a leasing agent in order to ensure that you feel comfortable as you tour our communities. You can choose the way you want to tour each community by making a choice on the “Tour Your Way” page.
We offer different types of housing, from studio apartments and garden apartments, to mid-rise buildings and everything in between. Whether you’re looking for a city setting or a more suburban feel, MAA has lots of options for your choosing.
