I had concerns about rodents and food that the community donated and left outside the building but after calling the food bank and expressing my concern immediately the staff notified the manager and called me back to assure me that the food donated that was contaminated is thrown away for that exact reason, So leaving food outside the building is the Cause of the problem! please let’s not do that. I was advised that there’s a fridge in the far left of the building that can be used to put the food inside to save it from the critters and also can use the barrels placed in Safeway Roxbury for donations. It’s a relief to know that the staff at our food bank cares about safety of the community, thanks for that, we all want to stay the safest posible👍🏽

Sometimes they can be really slow and sometimes I leave with a total of 3 meals and bunch of food that is a day or two from expiring but overall the people are really nice and there have been days were I come home with so much food. It doesnt matter the food is donated and i get what i can get. Staff is super friendly and really like the way the food bank is set up. I really do appreciate what you guys so keep it up!

Long lines, people shove, some of staff are very cranky. Food selection is OK, as with any foodbank, check expiration dates. I've gotten great food but I've also gotten food that went bad in 2012! Also you can only go once a month during the day, and once at night. We tried going last night and it was so crowded we couldn't even park. Well, that was due to some bad parkers, but the place was packed out the door so we had to leave. If you're really in need, don't have anxiety issues, and in the zip code area, they are open MWF 11-1.

Yes, if you reside within the area they serve there is no limit on multiple food banks.
If you are in the same household, only one person needs to be present. If it is your first visit, we will need the names and ages of those all living in the household. Anyone from the household can visit the food bank with photo ID and proof of current address. Starting July 5th, each household can visit 3x/month. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
We recently renovated to a grocery store model where the lobby area use to be. To mitigate the loss of our lobby, we are asking folks to schedule appointments. We hope that appointments allow folks to know exactly when they should be here to shop and eases planning for those that have to make travel arrangements. The last hour of each distribution are designated "drop-in" times. So, if you miss your appointment or don't have an appointment, you can always come the last hour of each distribution to shop! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
White Center is sometimes referred to by the nickname "Rat City" due to the historical presence of a military Relocation and Training Center during World War II. (From Wikipedia)
White center for bank has a section you can shop no questions asked. Was for the main distribution you should email directly. Everyone is very nice and there's lots of great produce!
We’re sorry that you experienced this. We only put canned food out for this reason but folks think this an area to donate food. We’re transitioning to a different solution. Apologies!
Yes, Thursday is the only restricted day.
Thank you for thinking of us! You can make your donation here: https://whitecenterfoodbank.networkforgood.com/

You just need to come in! There are no requirements to visit.
Yes
They hand out calendars as well with days and times you can go. Ask for one if they don't give you one. It's only for the current month but it gives you an idea of their schedule. Hope this helps you.
