Called a few times to get information on availability that is not listed on the website, the person on phones is either deliberately muting calls once they answer “Addison on 4th”, or they are having serious phone problems at the office.

My experience trying to apply for a lease has been a nightmare. I started my lease application on April 1st 2021. It is now June 4th 2021. More than 2 months trying to get on a lease and no end in sight with “corrections”. When I check in with those in the office, nothing is done. When I fix the issues those in the office tell me to fix, MORE issues arise. How is that even possible? When I seek answers, I get told “I don’t know”. How do you not know how long it takes to fix things? How does NO ONE have answers? How is it when I am told documents were submitted to their auditors, I get told after 48 hours that it is STILL not done? I want to live at Addison with my partner. I was hopeful that I would be treated with transparency and a sense that those who work there cared. I would very much like to be proved wrong and will continue trying to get on a lease and will improve my review with no issue if Addison stops going in circles with me. But at the moment, my experience has been zero stars.

We had toured this apartment about a year ago. The floorplan presented online presented a reasonable look (1 bed, 1 bath) and it was apparently available, so we went to check it out. Upon entering, the entire lobby reeked of urine. Tons of people meandered around, some of them smelling like old pee and others seemed put-off like we were. When we went to tour the unit, we took the elevator down into a very dismal grey area of hallways. We could hear rock music blasting (which is fine, but the echoes were eerie in this empty location) until we reached a door. I didn’t realize the 1 bed, 1 bath was on the basement level, so no windows I guess. No, we open the door and it’s basically a garage. Barely bigger than a Costco entryway. There was a sink and toilet in the corner, oddly reminiscent of a jail cell. It was NOT what I was looking for and even though the man who gave us a tour tried to be positive, I immediately asked us to look at the ACTUAL layout we asked to see. We take the elevator again, which now smells like FRESH urine. Up to the second floor we go: Old pee smell, loud noises everywhere, disgusting rugs - it was like a stereotypical “bad” motel. But worse. We go to a unit that’s currently being renovated (I have no idea what was being renovated exactly) and it’s not that spacious, but has a decent view. The bathroom was barely any better than it’s basement counterpart: maybe a luxury jail cell bathroom, or, a public park bathroom. The wooden floors looked dirty, despite being a dark brown that could easily hide it. The appliances looked relatively new, but there was specks of dirt and grime in areas around it, as if someone didn’t completely wash their hands before touching everything. We go back downstairs, having to hold the elevator open for a swaying man who kept mumbling about something. Once downstairs, we quickly said goodbye and hurried out of there. I ignored any calls to reach back out if we were interested. I didn’t even make it past the initial viewing because price be damned, this was NOT a safe place to be.

The Addison has been through a lot, I have been around when it was called the downtowner and it is becoming a lot better. New manager team has been doing a lot to the building, some of my neighbors do not like the elevator rules but Im ok with them. The building has been A LOT cleaner than in the past, the manger team is always cleaning, I wish someone of my neighbors would help clean up after themselves :) but hey we have different ideas of clean. Im not planing on moving anytime soon and I would recomend living here to! I dont know all the mangers names but, Thank you, you guys all work hard!

Questions & Answers

Is there still trash and a fire alarm issues? All the bad reviews are a bit old, I don't see anything bad from 2021?

The Addison on Fourth resembles the staff that does nothing but lie.
