Great location and well built apartments for a decent price. Like this place but there are problems. Over the past 6-9 months there been an increasing series of car breakins and even a car stolen from the private garage recently according to one resident. There are used needles in the stairwells from homeless people sleeping in the base after jamming doors open. Rather than deal with it by fixing broken doors or security it seems to be either being ignored or having blame passed off to anyone else eg safeway and/or residents letting people in. UPDATE: A new dispatcher firm has been hired for the complex. UPDATE: 04/28 Elevator to car park broken this morn, had to use stairwell and step over sleeping homeless person UPDATE: 07/11 car broken into again UPDATE 07/12 someone went through the cars broken window again, included photos of where they are sleeping and the exposed heating element which is being used to smoke meth all in the stairwell

I recently moved in to a unit in this building. Savannah made the entire leasing process very seamless. She was quick to respond to follow up questions via email! I move from the pike pine corridor for a larger apartment. It is infinitely quieter on this side of the hill. While Safeway is convenient, having PCC and the Co-Op so close is great.

I love living at Summit at Madison Park! I moved here from out of state without being able to visit and I can honestly say that I couldn't be happier. It's a vibrant and walkable area, with a great centralized location. If you are new to Seattle, and looking for a new apartment, this is the place for you!

Living here has been fine. For the price I feel like I should get a little more amenities if you compare this building to other similarly priced units in the area. I think the biggest reason I'm leaving is a 20% rental rate increase for an existing tenant and I am leaving is because of how unbearable my apartment was last summer during the heat wave. I have a southern exposure. This complex has really terrible circulation and doesn't have AC in the hallways. So when it was 108 degrees outside, my apartment was 105 degrees. The hallways on my floors were 102. I think its safe to say that we should expect this kind of heat phenomenon in the future so I think this is really important to note. Other clues that the circulation is sub-par is the smell of cigarette smoke on the 2nd level (though this is a non-smoking environment). Other issues worth noting: Package theft--I've had a couple of packages disappear. They don't really have a good set up for receiving/distributing packages considering the amount of tenants they have. They have lockers that are almost always full so they just throw everything on the floor in one room and you have to sort through every package. It can get time consuming. Fire alarms--They go off at least once a month in the West building. Probably because of Safeway but its still a bit of a nuisance. Dog patch: Several owners in the building don't pick up their dog poop.
