Beautiful venue with both established and up and coming acts. The art in the mansion is a must see prior to your concert. Small enough where every seat is a good seat. We have seen over 40 shows here, and never had a bad experience. Does have valet parking. A must do venue when in Des Moines.

Best venue around

How close to the building can we park? My husband is not able to walk to climb distances.
I parked on the street for free. I believe there event parking lot.
Gift cards for Hoyt Sherman, are you asking if Hoyt Sherman Place has gift cards? Hoyt Sherman Place is a performing arts venue, with an art gallery and historic building that is home to the Des Moines Womens Club. Contact Hoyt Sherman directly or the DsM Womens Club for more information. Thx!
Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office. As for accessibility, the theatre is 99 years old, so not as disability friendly as more modern theatres, but there is an elevator to get you from box office to main floor, to balcony. There a few places for wheelchairs at the very front of the main floor, but for those who use a walker or cane or wheelchair, but can sit in a regular seat, there are lots of options. People who will have trouble climbing steps should avoid the balcony.
Absolutely.
Call the ticket office I believe this is their phone number (515) 244-0507
My understanding is that if it has a crowd more than 50 people, it will be cancelled.
I would guess 6
Why doesnt it say when doors open for events? George Thorogood 7:30pm starts when doors open?
Yes, my wife pays $75/ year for a membership. Hoyt Sherman emails out pre-sale ticket opportunities. http://hoytsherman.org/membership/ The seats are a little tight, but there really isn't a bad seat in Hoyt Sherman.
If you download the Ticketmaster App you can just use your phone. It will bring up a qr code for your tickets and the attendant will scan them one at a time.
It's an old building & there was one flying around when Craig Ferguson was there!!
Try asking on their Facebook page, you'll get a more accurate answer. They are really good at replying.
It's an older, historic neighborhood comprised of houses, businesses and apartments.
Des Lux Hotel and Des Moines Marriott Downtown are fairly close. I'd opt for the Holiday Inn Des Moines Downtown, though. It's a little more affordable, similar drive and others a good breakfast.
Sorry I don't have it.
10:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Friday
I think it is event based. The night I was there 7:30p to 10:30p
