The ferry queue to Bainbridge island from Seattle was very long and on Sunday morning we have to wait for three hours. Bloedel took about 20 minutes to reach by car. This place was a heaven for me. So quiet, beautiful walking paths, every direction you look at was so picturesque. I was happy to be there and I will come back. The place is closed for entry after 5 pm and you have to leave after 6 pm.

Gorgeous place! Absolutely worth admission. From moss gardens to Japanese gardens to open meadows, there's plenty to enjoy. The spring blooms were lovely. Several benches throughout the property. Clear trails and maps provided at the entrance. Restrooms available at the gatehouse.

The trails are beautifully done. Easy to walk paths through fields, forest, and around ponds. So many different plants that look different every time I go. Many benches that invite you to stop and enjoy the view. I highly recommend you go every season to see the wonderful changes in the gardens and paths.

Bloedel Reserve was well worth the trek from Seattle. The grounds are well maintained and the beauty speaks for itself. Make sure you pay admission well before you drive to the location because cellular signal is a little spotty and it took quite some time to book on the side of the road.

Go to their website to get tickets and exact pricing. It is approximately $17 for one adult. Totally worth it!
It is called BI ride operated by Kitsap Transit. The cash fare to ride is $2.00. Please click on the following link for detailed information: http://www.kitsaptransit.com/service/routed-buses/bi-ride

This year the display runs from October 5th through 31st
Yes, there's more than enough parking. You have to either call or reserve your spot online though.
I'm not sure how the family pronounces it. The traditional pronunciation is asking the lines of blo' dl. But I've always pronounced it blow dell'
No.
We are open year-round, Tuesday through Sunday, rain or shine. Our hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. Our website has more specific details: www.bloedelreserve.org.
Some people are really bothered by mosquitoes more than others are. If you are, then this is not a good place for you. There are many small bodies of water.

No. The website shows the reserve is closed both Christmas and New Years this year (and new year's eve).
Hello! Bloedel is a walking nature reserve with trails ; however, we do have a paved road that is accessible for wheelchairs - we have two at the Gatehouse for public use (please ask when purchasing admission) and the Gatehouse staff will give you a route. You will still be able to see natural beauty and the main Residence, which is accessible by wheelchair. We do hope you take this opportunity and come visit our wonderful place! Warmly, Bloedel Staff
The original design was by Prentice & Virginia Blodel as a Western reinterpretation of a large-scale Japanese garden, with less of a focus on ornament. While technically privately owned (not public land), the property is presently held by a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to provide access to the property to visitors at a minimum cost.
Most of the trail you would, except for a couple places where there are stairs. Stop at the gate house and get a map first. It'll show you the options. It's a two mile meandering trail, mostly of tree bark.
The trails are mostly on soft mulch. It would be difficult for a mobile scooter to get through the trails if even possible. The walk around the park will only take you maybe about a half an hour to an hour walking depending on how much you stop and explore the area.
