I'd like to take an elderly family member who can't easily walk. Is this still a good attraction if she stays in the car? Can major sights be seen by car or an easily walkable/paved and level path? Or is this mostly a walking attraction? Thanks!

Hello! Bloedel is a walking nature reserve with trails ; however, we do have a paved road that is accessible for wheelchairs - we have two at the Gatehouse for public use (please ask when purchasing admission) and the Gatehouse staff will give you a route. You will still be able to see natural beauty and the main Residence, which is accessible by wheelchair. We do hope you take this opportunity and come visit our wonderful place! Warmly, Bloedel Staff

The preserve does not usually let you drive in the park. But most of the paths are wheel chair friendly. From their wedsite "Our trails are well-maintained bark or paved roadways, so most of Bloedel’s gardens are accessible to persons with limited mobility. Due to stairs or steep terrain a few areas might be difficult to navigate. Our Guest Relations staff will provide maps and suggest routes through the garden that are accessible to wheelchairs and require the least walking. Sturdy wheelchairs are available for visitors to borrow at no charge, on a first-come, first-served basis."
