A very good collection of glass work done by a single artist so beautifully and also appreciated is the fact that the authorities not only valued but even displayed it so nicely with the lights and backgrounds. Ambience, footfalls and Glass Artwork all are very good and recommended to visit if you are at the city and are an art lover, creator or curretor or just an enthu. Recommend it fully

The Museum of Glass is spectacular. It's starts from the Anthem and the museum as you walk over the freeway seeing the amazing glass art above you and the the freeway and the city view 360 degrees Tacoma 💪then you come to the glass vases that are beautifully blown away by these professional Artists. Then you enter the fountains, stairs, the boats, Yahtz, the calm water, park, restraunts it's stimulating. Go and see them blow away.

I'm an Artist from San Diego, CA and through a series of fortunate events, ended up at The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA. Employees were very knowledgeable, experienced and were able to answer all of my questions. The work opened my mind to the possibilities of what can be made out of Glass. The 'workshop' area was AMAZING. A well earned 5 stars 🌟

This was our 1st visit to this museum. It was absolutely stunning to see the work!! There was some serious detail on a lot of the pieces.. I had no idea there were so many clever artists with glass. Lol the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The gift shop was great!! And the bridge outside is stunning and remarkable!! There are no other words for that for the detailed beautiful works at this museum. We will definitely be returning.

Yes it is. There are elevators from the parking lot to the museum entrance. The museum is all on one floor. The glass blowing studio is accessible via ramps, and has several viewing areas reserved for wheel chairs.
Glass blowing demonstrations and exhibits from famous artists like Chihuly. Very interrsting. Takes 60 min to go thru exhibits and at least another 60 min watching the glass blowing demos.

Two hours is good; you may spend longer if you watch the glass-blowing. We had lunch there, too, which adds some time.
They offer classes/workshops for a fee. Check at the front desk or on the website for details.
There is a cafe in the Museum. Also across the glass bridge is a coffee shop in front of the Washington State History Museum, and across Pacific Ave. from Washington State history Museum is Starbucks and Subway.

No, pets are not welcome, only trained service animals.
There are several artists with the name Patton. I would assume it's Matthew Patton. With the WWW you can learn so much more. Just put his name in your search bar & learn away. Good luck
Probably best to check their website.
In person or online, with online you want to select visit, plan your visit and there's an admission tab right in the middle, select reduced admission program, in the middle is it Tacoma Museum District tab where you can purchase tickets online
What specific details ?
Yes there is! And there is a man explaining and answering to questions.
Depending on the 12 year olds maturity level they may like watching a glass blowing demo up close... otherwise the museum would be pretty boring for a kid.
There is wheelchair access, but i do not believe there are wheelchairs on site.
The best way to get in is to use the free passes from Tacoma Public Library if you have a library card
