Not as expensive as I was expecting for an art museum ($15 student ticket) but the space wasn’t big. The collections they did have were very cool, but it only occupied about 30 minutes of our time. Free coat and bag check

Went this weekend on a school field trip and it was a great experience! The students had an amazing time looking at all the amazing artwork. There are a lot of hidden passages that were easy to miss. We were able to leave off our drinks, bags, and not worry about out things getting lost. I will say the only thing I wish I had seen was maybe an Aztec/Hispanic artwork area, other than that it was all very culturally inclusive.

First Thursday of the month is free admission for everyone! Really cool museum. A lot of variety of different cultures but the museum itself is kinda small (I stayed there for almost 2h, being able to appreciate every single artwork)

I enjoyed my visit at SAM. Enough permanent exhibitions to keep you busy for 2 + hours. The European collection happened to be my favorite. It was sizable enough to impress and leave you feeling satisfied. Some of the contemporary exhibitions were enjoyable as well. It is suggested donation for general admission. The ticket counter won’t tell you that tho, at least that was my case. When I brought up the suggested donation they allowed me to donate what I wanted in exchange for admission. I definitely would return.

They told us donation based along with the suggested donation. We arrived about thirty minutes before closing so we felt less of a donation was sufficient, but the lady kept reminding us of the suggested amount.
Admission to the Wyeth exhibit is included in the general museum admission.
The ticket is $25 and includes access to the museum's regular exhibits. It is NOT included in the regular museum admission price. I highly recommend seeing this. I am a fan but was in awe of his artistry. Amazing work.
There are a range of prices for general admission, from free for kids 14 and under, to $20 for adults. Special exhibits have an additional cost. You could also become a member and get a bunch of perks! 😀
There's a parking lot just around the corner with a pedestrian exit just next to the museum.
Unless the member has a dual membership, the guest must buy their own ticket. Visit must be scheduled.
Third and Stewart Garage, the entrance/exit is on Stewart. You can get a voucher at the admissions desk for $8 for up to four hours. The garage is about four blocks away from the museum.
We spent 4 hours in the museum!
Yes, with limited capacity, but you need to buy tickets in advance and they're sold out for now!
You can order online and have your daughter pickup tickets at the desk, (i.e will-call). I don't think they mail the tickets.
Look at their website: http://www.tastesam.com/
$30 regular which also gets you into the special exhibit. $28 for seniors. First Thursday and Friday is free for main exhibits; special exhibit is $10
I don't believe parking is free... This is downtown Seattle after all..I suggest leave car at home base and take the Link Rail or bus..and have more fun that way..
Not anymore. They sold out.
They have daily tours. All you have to do is ask when you pay to get in. Great exhibits.
Closed on Monday for MartinLuther King Jr. Day...Closed Tuesday
Yes, but they are free
Museum has a garage under it. Check closing time when you get ticket. Prices are reasonable.
I don't know, call customer service.
Coat and bag check is required, but very easy and free.
20 adults or 25 to have access to the Double Exposure installation
Hint: you can pay by donation to view any/all galleries except the special exhibits. Even just $1, if it's all ya got!!
As of March 2021, according to website, Adults $19.99 Seniors 65+ $17.99 Military with ID $17.99 Students with ID $12.99 Teens 15-19 $12.99 Children 14 & under free Seattle Art Museum Members free
If you have a library card you can get a museum pass which gets you in for free.
You can park in the garage under the museum. Just be sure to get a validation when you get your ticket to the museum. It doesn't cover the whole cost of the parking but it does reduce it.
As of now, it is open through January 15, 2018. Great exhibit; well worth the visit.
