A welcome space for activity ideas, especially in the Minnesota winter. Be prepared for crowds on weekends and school holidays. Best suited for kids under 7.

Yes. I park there daily and suburbans and the like fit, but there will be some spaces that won't work.
This is what the Google site says: Monday Closed Tuesday 9AM–4PM Wednesday 9AM–4PM Thursday 9AM–4PM Friday 9AM–8PM Saturday 9AM–8PM Sunday 9AM–5PM Pre-COVID outbreak
The World Trade ramp is attached by skyway to the Museum and you get a discount at the Museum on your parking there. There is also the Treasure Island/Tria ramp a block south of the Museum on Wabasha street. The Museum doesn't have a discount for this ramp, but it is also linked up through the skyway system to the Museum. Metered parking is available on the streets, and is free on Sundays and holidays. Persons with a disability placard for parking may park free for 4 hours at any meter.
Yes
At least half of a day for sure. There are other food options around the area if you don't want to eat at the cafe.
Yes there are several. And they're very nice; comfy, big, nice chairs, books and dimmable lights.
Yes she would have a wonderful time! They have a special area called Sprouts that is aimed at children under the age of 3 that she could truly enjoy...there is also the ball play area, and lots of water/bubble play zones...and all the hands-on activities in the rooftop garden! It's a fabulous experience for children across the board!
You can bring food. They do however politely ask that you eat it in the atrium, not inside their Cafe or exhibits.
The 3rd Sunday of the month is free. Target sponsors the "free" admission.
They have free yearly memberships if your household makes under a certain amount for the year. Information is on their website. Some city and county libraries also have free passes to this and other museums that you check out. Otherwise, admission is $12.95 a person from ages 1 and up.
Clearance is 7 feet. It's the World Trade Center parking garage. There is plenty of parking on the streets and there should be other parking structures near by.
I believe it's good for all day- as long as you keep that day's colored sticker, you should be allowed back in the museum. Definitely give them a quick call to confirm though, if it's a deal-breaker.
It will give you a good feel for what's there. We spent 4 hours and the girls can't wait to go back.
On the street, Wabasha and Minnesota street both have lots of street parking. The official ramp is the World Trade Center ramp.
On the website it should have an option.
Free admission on every third Sunday of each month courtesy of Target corporation. Nice if you want to try it out. Lots of fun for all ages, even adults.
No, there's a lot for $7.50 if you get it stamped. Otherwise street which is hit or miss.
Minnesota Children's Museum was established in 1981. The museum was in the North Loop until 1985. From 1985-1995, Minnesota Children's Museum was in Bandana Square. In 1995, the children's museum moved to the current location in St. Paul.
Yes
Ages 1-101 cost $12.95 per visit. All others free
With validation from the museum, the parking rate is $6 for the first 3 hours and $1 for every 30 minutes after that.
The museum has a restaurant. The food is horrible. ie, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese. Not only is it unhealthy, it unaffordable. $7.00+ for any of the above. And it is not high quality food. Think gas station food. Plus the line order is surround by way over priced candy and toys. Bring your own lunch and save your waistline and avoid screaming kids wanting candy and toys.
Yes this year it is. It will also be Free Sunday.
I'd recommend using the metro transit website - you can put in your starting address, and the children's museum as the destination. It is listed under "landmarks" then "attractions" then "Minnesota children's museum". Good luck!
Admission is $12.95. Free admission on the third Sunday of the month.
To use? I don't think so but they are accessible.
Starts at 129, up to 189. There's a sale for today (Black Friday) for 25 off! https://mcm.org/join/
$12.95/person for ages 1 to 101. They also have family memberships available.
Yes. An EBT card and your ID is all you need to get a free one year membership at the box office at the Museum. Ask for an All Play application. You can also show tax returns or 3 consecutive paystubs as proof of income for the All Play membership. More info including the income chart is available at mcm.org under memberships
Yes, just keep your museum sticker to show when you come back!
The price is $129 for a basic membership which covers all children under 18 plus 2 adults. It does last 1 year, but depending on the size of your family it will pay for itself in 3-4 visits. They have additional membership levels on their website under "Join."
My kids are 10, 8, 6, and 3. They all love it here so much that we keep a membership.
Yes. The price is $12.95/person ages 1 to 101. They also have family memberships.
No. But if you have a Children's Museum membership you can get into the Science Museum for free on Tuesdays.
There's several parking ramps in the area aside from their official one.
The Children's Museum is better for young children. Even your 11 year old will have fun with most of the exhibits. I also love the one exit in/out. It makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids. There is a climbing area/slide, car wash, etc. and Daniel Tiger is the featured Exhibit.
The 3rd Sunday off each month. Target sponsors it.
There is a free year membership you can apply for if your household makes under a certain amount for the year, and there are also free day passes (for this and other museums) at some city and county libraries that you can check out to visit.
Third Sunday. Try to get there earlier because it gets very very busy and very crowded
