Bring shoes that have grip & traction in the cooler months. Slippy. Summer months? Another review stated: “Hot as heck.” Very true. Not a ton of shady spots along the way. It’s a nice view at the top. The girl I went with slipped on some icy mud & fell into the mud. On the way back to the car too. Only 25 feet left to go & she slipped LOL!

It’s pretty hot walking through the first half of the trail but once you start getting towards the top it feels amazing! The view of SLC is amazing and the breeze felt wonderful! I brought my pup and she loved it. There is a main trail but you can take different paths to get there and back if you don’t want to take the main trail.

Busy but fun trail. Great trail for beginners. Great view at the top. Do your self a favor and go a bit past the Living Room just a bit more. There’s. Throne made of stones up the hill just a bit more. It changes every time I see it so if it’s torn down, start making your own throne there. That’s my favorite spot since fewer people know about it.

Love this trail. Challenging but doable. Take your time and enjoy the view. The rocks at the top were placed to look like a Living room hence the living room trail. Great views of the valley. Definitely recommend doing this. I’ll be back for more for sure. It doesn’t get old.

Most of the previous answers are correct. The Natural History Museum and Red Butte Garden staff asks that hikers not Park in their lots, because then there is not enough parking for visitors. The upper Northern end of Colorow is wide enough and almost always has sufficient parking on both sides of the street.
I'd give yourself 2 hours. And it's always possible you will die.
About 20 minutes.
Yes ... They have garbages for doggy bags along the trail. Not sure what the rules are on a leash but most people I've run into on the trail did not have them on a leash.
I didn't see any signs allowing camping or facilities that enabled this...
I walked it on Sunday, a little bit of ice here and there, lots of walkers out. Take your ice cleats for small section.
