A surprisingly well organized boat trip. We went with CityPass, so it was even cheaper. It was great that the ship stopped and turned several times so that we could see and take photos of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline from the best angle. I can only recommend!

We booked the Liberty Super Express for something quick to do on a summer Friday. The tour leaves every hours from Battery Park. Hannah and the crew was AMAZING! Hannah was very informative and knowledgeable. The tour was super insightful and we enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend.

Got on at Pier 17 and this is perfect to get great views of the Statue of Libery, the Skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

The boat ride was about 50 minutes and you also got a good overview of the skyline. During our boat trip we did not set foot on either Ellis Island or the island from the Statue of Liberty. But this was due to the choice of our ticket. The tour guide tells stories in a very relaxed way, e.g. of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge or Ellis Island. This was informative. Personal information from the tour guide didn't interest me personally, but that's how most tours in America are structured.

It depends on the day of the week and the length of the cruise. Our least expensive cruise is the Liberty Midtown which is a 60 minute cruise to the Statue and back. That's $25 adults. The most expensive cruise is the Best of NYC which is a 2.5 hour cruise that goes around Manhattan. That's $44 for adults but it's often less during the week. You can get check the schedule, prices and purchase tickets at circleline.com.
I don't know about those discounts but there is usually a groupon available
