It is not a bad place
poly babe
Visited this place today for the very first time since I moved to OK. Had to advocate for a mother & her 3 babies. It was such a wonderful feeling to be able to help someone else & then part ways with that smile on their face as a sign of relief knowing that everything is going to be alright.

Yes! Many kids live there and can utilize the supplies. The donation center is on shartel across from the main entrance. It looks like a garage storage building. Call City Rescue for specific times and days to donate. Thank you.
Keep in mind their rehab program is unlike any others. It is about building a life centerer in Christ. It is not a 12 step program. The intake process UA's. If you pass you can choose any program that suites your needs. If you fail your automatically entered into rehab, Which has very strict rules. It is a good program if your ready for it. Otherwise, I suggest being able to pass the UA so you can go into the work, special needs or, short term program. All of which still have strict rules. CRM is not perfect but they do their best to help. Beggers can not be choosers. :] You asked "why do they drug test?" My answer is: "why do we have protocols and structure?" Clear expectations and rules will result in a clear outcome. This center is run completely from donations. They need to have structure. Humans thrive with discipline.
Start within yourself to get prepared mentally and emotionally. I do know for sure socks, hats and coats are needed for donations and shoes/boots. That's a great start.
I need a place asap so I can let my PO officer know
I've been at the city rescue mission for almost 3 months in the recovery program and have not had one issue receiving a clothing requisition and as far as the food goes everything is donated. If you are unsatisfied with the food then buy your own food. The mission has helped me to start turning my life around. Like any other program you get out of it what you put into it. You can't have a negative attitude and expect to be pampered. It is a shelter that charges you absolutely nothing for any of their services or help.
You just show up...super easy. You don't even have to have id.
Yes you can
They do but when I was there about 2 months ago they stopped taking donations bc of Covid. I'd call up there to see.
I dont believe they do. But there may be differences with the women's program. Do at least call and talk to someone - I imagine they know local organizations. I believe that there are Catholic churches/diocese that may be able to help. I'm not sure - I'm not involved with Catholic churches at the moment. But my father says Catholics are good people, and they do truly engage in charity work. Check it out.
They don't give out food to the public anymore all food donations go to the clients staying there
You will have to go admit yourself and talk to a case worker that day or at the very latest, the next day. They will come up with a plan for you based on your needs.
Churches will help you i know that the Salvation Army will help you with a bus pass you could also go online and ask someone to help you like a non profit organaziton or you start your owe go fund me page to help you with a bus pass its legal and there is someone who can help you churches will help you
Yes Juan you just need to reside separately
Yes, but the men sleep in a different location than the women. Also, take some warm clothes. They make you sleep on a 1 in. thick mat on the floor the first night. And the temp is a nice balmy 65* in there.
Well you can, but you will get hours for it. Lol. So technically no you can not. But we all do. Hahahahahahaha. Sorry.
Yes, if they have room in the program. Jesus House also has a program.
Yes. Just keep them in your room.
No just homeless
They have several programs not just recovery and yes they accept women with children.
Go to 800 W California Ave. And they will direct you to the proper place to Donate. Thank you for your help. God bless you and your family.
Hello Denisa, this is a very thoughtful idea and I know the residents there wish they could accept your gifts. Unfortunately The City Rescue Mission does not allow the residents to use quilts or blankets. Their is standered beding given to the residents and they get penalized if they have an extra blanket or blanket that has not been issued. I stayed there for six months this year. It is an unfortunate situation. May I make a suggestion? Homeless gather accross the street at the Shell gas station every Saturday and gladly accept all food, clothing, blankets and hygiene products. I bet you could go drop your lovely blanckets off there. It is On Sheridan and Reno in the open grass lot next to the Shell gas station on Saturdays. Secondly, OKC's Tent City in down the street accross from the Jesus House. Those folks could probably use new blankets as well. Best if Luck to you. Thanks for thinking of the less fortunate. 💛
Because they do they like to lie and it's sad I've been in the program and I had to leave because all those people are fake with expired food only good thing about them is the bathtub
But the client don't really see the clothes or get items they need... They are stock pilling.. And not getting clients the right size clothes and under garments.
All you have to do is come in at a reasonable time at the main entrance on California and tell them you want to make a donation.
Go ask for help. The truth would suit you just fine of you truly needed help.
Yes
Unknown, was dropping a food donation.
So sorry but I don't know. God Bless🙏❤
There isn't just one person who runs the CRM. It has a very diverse staff and executive team.
Go to city rescue mission and they will help you get what you neec
Men and women have separate buildings they sleep in. The women have a families area with their own room.
Yes
How does he look
Possibly. I know a lot of the work is done by us residents. But I would call and ask for donnamarie or crystal. They should be able to help.
I just volunteered in the kitchen, I can't answer that. however I am sure you could find out by calling them.
Yes women are there to
They do have a women's program.
I am just volunteered in the kitchen. You should contact them and discuss it with the staff
Yes
Yes they take people from out of state and yes they have beds
I can't comment on the bed availability, but you can call 405 232 2709 and ask, and they have women and women with children services available.
Not from oklahoma yes but there will be a background check to make sure no sex crimes or back to 5 years of violent crime
I think so but its best to call and ask Aaron
You will have to go in person and find out are call
Why? Why can't my husband & I be together? That's so stupid
Most definitely they do
Unless you are in a same sex marriage, y'all will be separated
yes
Yes call n arrange for pickup
Not sure if they do or not but I will check into that
City Rescue Mission is able to assist you with housing, job skills, food, clothing, toiletries, and any other assistance as well as resources for mental and medical needs. All case management staff is willing to assist with any needs you may have, and they have knowledge and experience. It is a great place to get back on your feet. Or to get a great start in life.
No. I'm serious. That's not a helpful answer AT ALL. What documents, self identification, exc do I need to stay at this shelter? I'm literally homeless till the 15th and need a safe place to sleep.
No they only except expired food you can't bring no food in if it's not expired I was pregnant there and tried to bring some food they told me no the reason I had alot of problems in my pregnancy is because of this low class mission
You have to become part of one of the 5 programs to stay here. There are different requirements for each one. Intakes are from 9am-4pm Monday thru Friday.
They still accept men.Unless you have a violent charge that's happened in the last 6 years.
There is not an open WiFi connection. But there is free WiFi down the street at McDonald's and Taco Bell.
Yes, we receive donations M-F 9-5pm. Our donation drop off is on the east side of our building (on Shartel, between California and Reno). Thank you!
They don't give a damn they put this lady out with her kids
No violent or sexual charges.
Great place to go - great staff - many resources to help get you back on your feet
They can use them, but they may not. It depends on there new rules. May i suggest you call them and find out.
They have a message board that they can get each day but as to know if try to find out if they are still there they wont give you that information due to the hippa law and act of privacy law.
Apply the listed information works wonders. STOP
Its the way they set up their program. If you leave a message she will have to check the desk every day. Hopefully she has her own phone cause they won't let her use the phone.
Yes. Families stay together.
No, they don't do that. I would recommend try calling some where like Upward Transitions, Be The Change or United Way.
I don't know if they do, but they certainly have connections with several around town they can give you access to.
Get there early to get a spot
There are a lot more expenses than just food and hygiene products. There is rent on their location, there there is new equipment to be bought to replace old worn-out equipment. There are at least a thousand everyday incidental expenses that we take for granted.
Oh nevermind I just answer my own question...they are hired mussle & brainwashed. CRM's version of Manchurian Candidates. 😆
You wear your own clothes and no u won't be in your own room.
No
The Jesus House do but only if you have a drug and alcohol addiction or mental illness, the Salvation Army might
Outside of the facility unless you have phones. Good luck with trying to get your life together here... Just like the rest of Oklahoma.... They find ways to keep you oppressed.
They do but your husband will be in the mens shelter and you would be in the women's shelter . They do not have it to where you can be together.
Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week if you want to do an intake you must be there from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday
I went because I was having my home fumigated an was Friday night no intake slept on the ramp on mat
Yes you can set up visits with loved ones they having a sitting area and times. Talk to staff and they can clarify things.
I believe as long as you're a family member if not just to be safe either a family member or not I would take social security card and driver's license maybe proofread address anything you can do to save yourself an extra trip they're very helpful people though maybe even give a call before you go
Call b4 you go. Talk to the staff working. They can get it to her but they probably won't give u any info because of privacy laws so make surr she is there still.
