I've been at the city rescue mission for almost 3 months in the recovery program and have not had one issue receiving a clothing requisition and as far as the food goes everything is donated. If you are unsatisfied with the food then buy your own food. The mission has helped me to start turning my life around. Like any other program you get out of it what you put into it. You can't have a negative attitude and expect to be pampered. It is a shelter that charges you absolutely nothing for any of their services or help.
I think I've been in the program two weeks and it's awesome and you grow everyday it's a lot of people that graduate but they get bossy and rude but you can't get intimidated just do what you are supposed to tand you should be good as long as you want to change and do better you can do it
I currently reside in the shelter and with the indifferences going on I still haven't received requested clothing and even the director has ignored any follow ups. They select who to give clothing to.
Well if you never stayed there no one needs your input Karen thank though i never asked to be pampered I only asked if I could eat food outside the program I was sick everyday I passed out twice there from not eating well and not drinking enough water because there water is warm what kind of program denies a pregnant woman food when she's hungry what kind of people want let you bring in water from outside if there not providing water I literally had to leave that place with no where to go because I was they wouldn't let me bring food in dinner is at 5 so your telling me asking for food after 5 while I'm pregnant that means I wanted to get pampered?
I have never seen a PERFECT program. I know many programs are able to operate because of volunteers. I wouldn't be surprised if the people they serve are leaning valuable skills which would make them valuable employees in the work force. As a result, appropriate clothing articles are always welcome wanted and appreciated by all. It's my sincerest Hope the community will continue to donate clean and gently work items for our valued community members and volunteers in need. (I am not a employee or volunteer with this organization)
