It is so rare these days to find such collaborative Customer Service like I experienced recently with Albuquerque Plant World. Since the person I typically confer with — MIKE — was not available, someone immediately referred me to DANE, who was exceptionally helpful in clarifying questions regarding details about certain plants, including best time to plant certain ones at this time of year when freezing temps loom around the corner. I was really impressed with KAILA who was incredibly patient and kind, as she processed a large order for me and was successful in getting the order filled all in the same day! Although she was humble as she said she has been with PW for less than a year, she was knowledgeable and creative in making suggestions for plants equivalent to the ones we wanted that they did not have in stock. I actually ended up taking some of her suggestions and think they are likely even better than what I had originally planned. She is definitely an asset to Plant World and will certainly be a reason for me to return. There are always many people "behind the scenes" who complete the team and often end up being the unsung heroes. JACOB with the ginger colored hair, was helpful in making extra trips to get just the right plants. And from what I understand, NICK was the one responsible for pulling the entire order of plants to make it available for pick up the same day as the order actually being made. A hearty thank-you to each one of you iwho participated in the various aspects to complete this order so beautifully!

Hi Islabella, What a fun project! I hope you find this helpful. African violets require at least 12 hours of light daily in order to bloom. These plants are called “photo accumulators.” They require bright light but never full sun. Direct sunlight will burn the leaves. You should get the best results when you place your African Violets in a north or east facing window, about 12” away from the glass so they do not get direct sun and so they do not get too cold at night. Rotate them once a week so all the leaves receive sunlight. African violets prefer temperatures between 70-80 degrees during the day & 65-70 degrees at night. Not enough light leaves are usually thin and deep green and are stretching toward the light source. Too much light leaves turn pale or yellowish-green. African violets are picky about water. Don't over water them. Feel the top of the soil: if it is dry to the touch, then it is time to water. Have fun and good luck!

Yes, we have a few.
Hi Dale, yes you can, and they are beautiful. We usually carry them starting in late April after frost/freeze danger has past. We do expect to have them this year as well. I would use them as annual color in the garden unless you are in a USDA zone 8 to 10. Other wise cold climates will not allow them to winter over. Let us know if you have additional questions.

We also have the Pink Pampas in 1g and 5 g sizes. If you know what you need, feel free to call our sales office at 898-9627 and the can put them on hold for you if you prefer. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you. Happy Plantings! Yes, it is fine to plant perennial shrubs and trees now. Planting in the fall and winter actually give the plants the best opportunity to put their energy into their root system. That will give you a healthier plant going forward. You want to make sure you water them regularly during the winter in order to establish their root system. Winter watering for newly planted plants applies to the drought tolerate plant selections as well. Be sure to check with one our our horticulturist for how much water and how often you should be watering you new plants.
Unfortunately we do not have them in stock at this time. We will have a few on our fall or next spring order if they are available. Depending on the size and quantity you need we can do our best to make sure we put them on a special order for you when the become available if you are interested in doing so. They are a beautiful tree but have gone out of favor and demand the last decade because they suffer from a variety of problems from weak limbs and short life span to pests and disease. If you cannot find the Globe Willow and want to plant a tree now, I would suggest the following for your consideration. Zelkova (we have several varieties & sizes to choose from) Big Tooth or Mesa Glow Maple (limited quantities in stock) Desert Willows (nice assortment of sizes in stock) and of course many others that might work for you. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance or would like to get on the special order list. Happy Plantings! Veleta
