I’m literary shaking as I write this. The “service” My mom and I have received today is hard to call humane if to call it service at all. To make it short we were yelled at after asking a question. Came in on a Monday 10 am, made a line the security guard helped us and explained everything, he was very nice. We got our number called (my mom doesn’t speak English so I had to assist her) came to the window number . Not hello, not a good morning NOTHING. The lady stuck out her hand (I’m assuming she wanted to have our documents or smth) I’m sorry we can’t read minds?? She was already annoyed. I explained her our situation and my mom has just gone through hell of war back in Ukraine and the lady didn’t even open her papers. she immediately started refusing everything I said. I had some questions and after I tried asking any of those she kept rushing me and yelling (I kid you not) yelling at me that I’m arguing with her? I was asking a question in a totally polite manner! Apparently my research wasn’t enough and I had to know what was my next step. So 0 questions answered, 0 helped received, I came out shaking and barely holding back tears from such treatment! Im so glad my mom didn’t understand a word because she doesn’t deserve it! The lady gave me her name Bridget after I asked her twice for it, she said it was and refused to give me her last name, so I’m going to describe her if the management will ever look at this complaint: middle aged, African-American with short gray hair and freckles. I hope she and her family will never go through what my family has gone through, and being treated like that in the country where we are just trying to recover from the war and ask simple questions!!!! I’m so mad I can not even describe!

I am sickened by the customer service they give out. I’ve called numerous times and nothing is ever taken care of regarding my case. I’m literally in tears as I write this wondering why nobody is helping me! I feel completely rushed when I do get someone on the phone, they’re not knowledgeable, my case worker never calls back and to top it off I just called twice to someone picking up and having to sit there listening to someone type as I’m ignored. I pray nobody ever treats them this way because this is so wrong and inhumane. As soon as they need information they need it in a timely manner but god forbid you need help nothing is resolved.

Vincent, it's possible but depends on a lot of individual factors. Your best bet is to first create an account for yourself on ssa.gov so you can see your earnings record and get.some basic info on when you can begin to collect social security, aa well as the advantages and disadvantages of doing it before full retirement age (between 65 and 67, depending on the year you were born). In general, the amount you'll receive each month is significantly less if you start collecting early, at 62.
