Beautiful campground with amazing views. $10 a night if you don’t need electricity. Very quiet with a cool view of mountains and the glittering city. The bathrooms here were extremely clean! And there are showers with hot water. Water taps also available at some sites.

Great place to stay for camping. Clean park. Wonderful hosts. The geodes are very difficult to find. Jasper is plentiful

Awesome park, extremely kind and helpful host. We had a perfect time, everything is well maintained and clean. The trail offers beautiful views and fun rocks. Keep your eyes out for snakes though! Almost stepped on a cute little bull snake on the thunderegg trail. Snapped a picture from a bit away, and left the little one in peace.

Tucked off outside of town at the base of a couple lovely little mountains, this state park is one of the best I’ve been to over the years. Easy to navigate sites, perfectly clean (and heated) bathrooms, very cheap rates ($14 for hookups $10 for primitive), and a cool visitors center nearby full of history about the region. Gotta love a desert sunset too.

Yes I had very strong signal. Cell towers are up the mountains right by the campground.
For some sites, and the others are first come, first served.
Yes, it is a little difficult trying to figure out what is a rock, and what is actually something worthwhile. Lots of fun and a cool place, just watch out for rattlesnakes.
Yes, they have both. The shower, restroom facility is brand new and the nicest I've ever seen in a campground!
If I remember correctly, the gates close at sunset...
Currently it's 50° and getting warmer by the minute with a slight cloudy overcast that will be gone by noon, although i swear i smell rain😇😉
No, that would be the Robledo Mountains in Las cruces, thats one hour northwest of this park. One interesting thing is that you can camp here with rv or tent amenities but you can drive to the Robledo mountains and enjoy both. The scenery is spectacular at the little Floridas an you can do plenty of hiking.
Yes. A couple at the campground and some at Spring Canyon state park a couple miles away. They are all nice. Lots of rocks
Has to be done online or by phone. You can scan the symbol on the post of the one you want and it should connect you.
Yes you can camp, with reservations. Sorry, I don't know about an ATV. I did not see any there.
Yes absolutely. Wear good shoes, some of the trails are slippery with loose rock.
The main district will not shore about the canyon
Yes, be sure to make reservations for hook up sites.
Ok, thanks. Looks like a cool place to go but the campground is full
Absolutely. Very nice place to camp. Definitely should do one of the walks too!
Here right now at end of Dec and it will be a low of 29 degrees by 7am. Brrrrr!
You need to call the park, government employees do not monitor this Google web page.
We pay said $10 a car. We only had one campsite, but put up two tents and had two cars, so $20
Yes 14 days. If you want more time in the area, up north a bit is city of rocks which is also way cool or even venture up to the Gila!
There are some steep hills on the road. I figure you can ride the ebike on them but battery life needs to be really good
Yes. And they are closing out between 10 pm and 7 am now.
No there is no Lodge, there is a building where you can go and find out about rocks and ask questions. With a wonderful campground a bit further up the road.
For the most part sites are on a first come first serve basis. It's a beautiful Park and fills up with winter snow birds. Make sure a site is open before you pay at the entrance gate. if there are no sites available and you have prepaid, there are no refunds.
For cool granite monolithic rocks, Story Rocks nearby is better than Rockhound. For gems, neither is really good.
This site does not have any water features (ie lake, river, stream or swimming spots). It's in the dessert. And as far as I know you can camp with a dog.
The weather is very hot in May 100+degrees. It is easy to find the trails. Dry camp $8 a night. With water is $15-18 per night
No. Contact the Bureau of Land Management for areas close to the park where you can use your ATV's.
