I have never been disappointed with the hospital or the staff. They were swamped this visit and I never actually made it to the back but I was taken good care of in the waiting room. I was there for an injured shoulder and did not really require a bed. I worked 12 years as an ER nurse and I know how very stressful it can be but at no time, in any of mine or my family’s visits have I ever received anything but exemplary care. You have a true right to be proud of your staff and hospital.

Normally this ER is outstanding. Not sure if they have new staff recently but my last visit was a nightmare. I went in for back spasms and could barely move and was in excruciating pain. I was there for almost three hours and no doctor came in to see me. No pain relief was offered. I ended up walking out and told the nurse I was leaving because I could at least sit at home in pain. She said “Ok”. I am still suffering from back pain.

Going to the Pleasanton emergency room was a waste of time. I was experiencing heavy bleeding after a D&C procedure and they thought it was more important to see a person with shoulder pain. After waiting for 30 minutes a nurse came out and told us the beds were full and that they didn't even have an OB/GYN there to see me anyway. I could have been at a real hospital in San Antonio getting the help I needed. So sad that for a small town with limited resources the best we can do is an over packed emergency room with useless, unsympathetic, and cranky receptionists.

I went to Energebcy Room with bad cough, chest pains, shortness of breath, headache, body aches, diarrhea etc. I was seen in good time, nurses were good, doctor was good. I did leave there feeling better, breathing better and very little pain. I was very glad to not be admitted. Housekeeping is definitely needed. Bathrooms trash cans overflowed with dirty paper towels on the floor. Floors dirty, was in room 7 and you could see floor had not been cleaned in a long time, dry blood stains, tape on floor, bed not wiped down before clean sheet put on. Staff was doing a good job but definitely lacking in finishing their job. I came home, had at least 6 cardio tabs stuck to my body, all gluey stuck to me. They didn’t even take them all off. This was my first visit here but I was glad to not be admitted. I probably would have gotten worse with all the germs around the uncleanliness in this hospital.

That’s unfortunate to hear- most people have experienced a bad day at work - it can be scary when it’s a healthcare provider, but they are human. I hope you give Methodist South another try - and sometimes just a simple reminder to your provider goes a long way. If it ever happens again (anywhere!!) try saying something like...”hey sounds like ya’ll are having a rough day, but it could always be worse...you could be me HAVING to be here and listening to you complaining about being paid to be here!”.

Sorry to hear your experience was negative- being a patient or the person accompanying a patient to the ER is never easy. Hospitals constantly try to improve upon their delivery of care and customer service hopefully you give Methodist South in Jourdanton another try should the need arise. You may find yourself happily surprised.
