Would avoid going to the ER here if you really think you might need surgery. Took my wife there on a Saturday afternoon for what we suspected to be an appendicitis. The ER staff was good and did diagnose an appendicitis, but they didn't have a surgeon on call that day so we were transferred to Seton Hays, which is the same in network provider for my wife. In doing this, we are being billed for two ER visits and the transportation from SW to Hays all because they didn't have a surgeon on call. I wanted to take my wife in our car, but Dr advised against it due to morphine for the pain. On the surgery, I even checked their website prior to taking my wife to Seton SW and they said they perform surgeries. Maybe they should put a sign in the waiting room letting people know if it is serious, you will be transferred to another hospital. Would have saved us about $2,500...

I arrived early, check in was quick to alert day surgery. Very accommodating as I used other language. On the day surgery floor, nurse Wendy was wonderful at explaining all factors, as well as supporting my comfort. Head nurse obtained the video remote interpreter (VRI). So I has quality communication. The guy who did the anesthetic (regretfully forgot his name) covered questions I had. Wendy was more present than the doctor, which I never saw, no worries. The surgery was over quick as normal, then nursing staff allowed me to sleep off the grogginess to go home in a fine state. I felt good after I wok up. There was a recovery chair to allow me time to have juice & regain strength. As usual i was wheeled me to front entrance to my ride. If you're unsure about day surgery this is very comforting, accommodating, trained facility.

The entire team at Seton Southwest Cardiac Rehab is outstanding! Professional, empathetic, and always encouraging their patients. They help rebuild self-confidence along with helping patients to rebuild heart and overall strength. I highly recommend!.

When a family member with a life threatening emergency needed care this week, we drove straight to Seton Southwest, and we were so glad we did! A big thank you to RNs Chelsea, Barbara and Bill, and to Dr. Duncan! The whole team worked so well together, and they each took time to offer reassurance and explanations during the course of care. It really was the best combination of high caliber professionalism and kindness possible! We are so grateful for their contribution to a good outcome!

How do I find out if someone is in emergency

You would call and ask to reach the ER. The ER staff would know who is there at the time. I cannot guarantee they would share that information though, due to HIIPA laws.

Not sure because I was told to go home. The nurse told me that I wasn't pregnant anymore and threw a phone book on my bed to call a cab. She wouldn't give my husband an hour to drive from work to pick me up. A week later, I found out I was still pregnant!
