Hard to rate this place as I’m still processing what happened here with my mom. She came to get stronger after a hospital stay and ongoing treatment post leukemia and stem cell transplant. The good: PT and Speech Therapy were great. Helpful, caring, and helped her get a little bit stronger. However, she had some major medication issues that did not mix well and resulted in her becoming a shell of herself with confusion, memory issues, and some delusions/hallucinations. Terrifying to see from 63 yr old that is usually very aware and talkative. I didn’t realize till after discharge that I wasn’t getting accurate information regarding her meds. I was told they discontinued one med, but at discharge the pharmacist told me something different. A few days before discharge at family training, I was informed that she needed 24 hr care, assisted living, a care taker, and to look into medicare. Overwhelming. They offered lots of resources though and set us up with home health. Luckily, she had an appointment her cancer clinic doctors the following day so we could make sure our current path was accurate and safe for her. She’s already doing much better now that she’s home.

They asked me to interview and I showed up and no one else did. Not a good sign. Please avoid. Also just tried to call them and they didn’t answer. Huge red flag.

My mom had a horrible experience at this hospital during her stay there in June of 2022. I would NOT let any family member stay here- the care was terrible.

I had a total knee replacement at St David's main. Great surgeon Dr Manuel and his staff. My knee was pretty bad. Years over due for replacement. I needed and wanted to go into inpatient rehab. Encompass Rehabilitation south Austin was the place for me. Close to my home so much less stress for my husband to visit. Thanks to Jackie at St David's main my case manager. She worked so hard to get me in. Katelyn the Encompass liason at St David's main. Dr Grey at Encompass accepted me into their program. Thank you Dr Grey. What a great Hospital. She has amazing Drs and Nurses and techs. The best Ot's and Pt's. So happy I came to Encompass south. They are so incredibly thorough. Great stuff goes on here. This facility does not miss a trick. They cover every aspect of your body and mind. No wonder this experience has been so successful!
