My wife and I ran away for a much needed weekend vacation. My wife booked the cabin for us. The park itself is conveniently located. We had the opportunity to enjoy a nice hike at the campground, 5 miles at the Buffalo state park, the Burgoo festival in Utica then a 5 mile hike at Starved Rock. The cabin we stayed in was nice. The cabin is for sleeping and morning coffee you can not cook inside the cabin. The full size mattress is not comfortable bring a mattress topper. We always have sanitizer wipes so we can sanitize before and as we are leaving. Not sure about about the women's showers but the men's shower room is rough. There is a Love's truck stop in Utica for a normal shower. $15.00 is worth a normal shower. October is great for hiking , don't have to deal with the annoying bugs. There is only one cabin at this campground so be sure if you have more then 2 adults and 4 kids you will need to bring tents. For the most part the campground is really nice and very peaceful at night. We hope this is much more helpful and informative than previous reviews. As always, be safe in your travels.

You can have a campfire, anytime of the year in designated areas such as camp sites and grills. No bonfires at any time.

The cabin is nice. There are bunk beds and a eating space. They have electric.
They have 1 for sure, think it sleeps 6 maybe. They may have another in a different part of the park, but only 1 in the electric site area...
There is no issues except muddy trails. Enjoy yourself !
Yes, there are electrical hookups on the waterfront sites.
Yes there are camp sites here and yes all night
There is a 1.7 mile loop that gores along the river west of the actual campground. The trail-head is under the bridge. It is an easy and fun hike. You can also visit "Dayton Bluffs Preserve" about 7 miles away for another fun selection of hikes along the Fox River.

I believe the main campground is open year round but water is shut off Nov 1st. The Whitetail ( class b and primitive) portion of the campground shuts down Nov 1st as well.
