This place is a must visit. A real gem tucked away in scenic paradise.
Mamma's In The Garden
No cell service π A lot of uphill hiking with well blazed trails π Beautiful views, big rocks, and so many waterfalls π Road 154 is closed between Park office and family camping so I assume that's why the road wasn't busy. π Totally walkable from my site to the river and to the park office only accessible via a closed trail along the riverπ€ Said trail will soon be washed out. The bathrooms were clean, shower water is warm enough, and plenty of stars to gaze. My only gripe is the pet area doesn't include the bathrooms. If they'd move one sign from site 19 up to the bathrooms that'd be great. My daughter is terrified that the bears would get us on our bathroom walks. So if we walk to the bathrooms with the dogs she's at ease. We loved it, so serene.

Good hiking trails, great for photography and clean stay camping areas ( you have to have a permit to camp there)

I found World's End to be very accessible right off route 154. I can think of several other state parks that really made me feel like I had been dragged to the end of the earth. Name aside, this park has a literal swimming hole formed by a dam on the Loyalsock Creek. Parking is across the road, where you'll find nice picnic tables and pavilions, and a concession stand and restrooms. The campground has 70 campsites and 19 cabins some with stone porches (not common in most of the parks). My eye was caught by a campsite with it's picnic table moved up in the woods for a better view. (see photo). There's also 3 organizational group campsites in a middle area. You can hike any of the 13 trails any maybe find an ancient fossil along the way. In winter, go cross country skiing or snowmobiling. About half the park is open to hunting in that season. I have only walked the trails but a good place to park would be at the bottom of butternut and high rock trail near the creek
Yes. & u. Have. 2. Call. Them
Hi Elizabeth, The cabins are in such high demand that they are often booked months in advance. During the Summer season cabins must be rented for at least a week which helps to ensure that families that are vacationing at the park for longer then just the weekend are able to stay there. In the off season from fall through spring the cabins are available to be rented for a minimum of two nights at a time. Regards, Kyle Fawcett Board Member Friends Of Worlds End State Park
Good Afternoon Jacqueline, I checked with the Park's Naturalist and there's a kids gardening program on the 6th but otherwise she'll not be starting any other programs until the following week. Regards, Kyle Fawcett Board Member Friends of Worlds End State Park
It depends on where you go. There are allot of places to go swimming on the loyalsock creek.
You can drive to the vistas
Trout only from the stream
There is trails.
I would ask the park office if that would be OK. They are usually very understanding.
Yes, the showers, restrooms and changing areas are open to the public at no charge.
No but for certain activities there are fees, check the website
Or walk thru woods and gather dry kindling
There is a campsite right at the base of the canyon vista trail head. Dogs are allowed at that campsite but only in designated areas. Dogs are permitted on all of the trails. There are some steep spots on the trails where I would recommend keeping them on a tight leash. But otherwise it's a pretty dog friendly hike!
You can reserve a pavilion
Hi Carol There are picnic facilities in the day use area along Loyalsock Creek. They're available from sunrise to sunset 365 days a year. There are also a number of picnic pavilions that can be reserved on the parks website. Regards, Kyle Fawcett Board Member Friends of Worlds End State Park
Yes, you may tent camp on any of the sites. Most of the sites have soft ground to put a tent on as it is a very tent friendly campground.
You pay upfront as the rangers office isn't always open .
The cabins are for rent. Contact sullivan country, or the state forestry office in Harrisburg. They rent by the week, and are usually booked months in advance. Overnight tent sites are fairly cheap.
Go to the rangers office if you're there. Otherwise go to the park website, login, confirm there is a cabin available and get it, then cancel the tent site. The cabins are typically booked out months if not close to a year in advance so good luck!
There are woodstoves in every cabin set inside the fireplaces . The park will supply some wood during the winter months but be prepared to get or bring more .
