Best way to get to key west if you are in the fort Myers area

Terrible experience. The boat smells like mold... the employees are so rude to the passengers... the bartenders never know what they’re doing. Made me pay an ADDITIONAL $25 to "replace" a ticket that they didn't even print out (no cost to them at all), although I had the ticket on my phone and all. Just took my money and literally told me I needed to be more responsible (super professional). Always looking to make as much money from you as possible. Super disheartening. Greedy company. Never using this service again.

We have taken key west express alot to go to key west and have never had a bad trip. Great crew and food and drinks are good. Would recommend people Take key west express.

Worst travel experience of my life. We took the express from Ft Meyers to Key west and it was a fairly pleasant experience. On the way back, the sea was too rough and the ride should have been canceled. At least 50% of the passengers were vomiting continuously for three and a half hours. The boat ran out of puke bags in our section. Vomit was everywhere, seats, floor, handrails, bathroom; EVERYWHERE. I would very cautious to sit on any seat or touch a surface on that boat. The stained seats make sense now.

Actually if the boat is pretty full or issue with weather, be prepared to find the boat gone if you wait too early. Leaves around 8am from Fort Myers at times and may be early on returning from Key West. The best bet is to arrive at least 1 hour early just to play it safe.
Need to know depature times from fort Myers and key west
As others have answered, you can absolutely do that.
Yes, they are, as long as they are a small, collapsable one. Think six-pack sized.
It is your decision. You must select what day you want to depart and when you wish to return. Some take a day trip however more spend at least a night.
Yrs. It is for the round trip. It is also same day. If you choose to stay over you have to let the crew members know that you're staying over and what day you're coming back. Also there's certain times a year that they put it on special and you can buy as many tickets as you want.
Yes there is a place right in the terminal, I think they charge something like $10 to hold your luggage till time to board. I used them back in August.
Yes there are storage lockers as soon as you get off the boat.
Never heard of the ferry you are asking about

As others have answered. Beers are about $4-5 each. A dog carrier is much like luggage that you would need to arrange for, upon your arrival.
Yes, pets are permitted. They must be in a standard pet carrier for the duration of the trip and there is a $50 round-trip fee.
I did it 2 weeks in advance but different times may vary since holidays come up or people go in groups vacationing, theres no guarantee how certain days will do

Yes, at Ft Myers you can get a taxi, I'd use Uber or Lyft, you'll get a much better price

Good morning. There aren't any lockers available, since this is an international terminal and against TSA regulations. There is a porter service in the terminal, that will pick up your luggage for you and have it available for you, at boarding. Their phone number is 305-293-4000.
Yes. Cremains may be carried within luggage. They may not be scattered however.
No, not as long as you have id. Just traveled to Key West with my daughters and they did not need any.
I think it's daily
Yes or take a taxi we took a taxi to the hotel and rented bikes everything is close it is hard to find a parking spot
I printed mine out on line or was told I could pick them up at the dock
Taxi is for passengers only. After we got to Key West we took taxis or walked every where we went.
Just went monday.three hours fifteen minutes
There are taxi services in fort Myers, imagine they could drop you off
There are a couple of hotels within a mile or so from departure point
No refunds. I heard you'll have to book the next trip out. If you're in key west, you need to find a hotel for an extra night.
I would contact them to find out.
We went the beginning of August and we left at 8:30am and got down there between noon and 12:30., but I heard they change their hours for the holidays. You best better check the website. Hope this helps!
Didn't see lockers but there's a service for $11 per bag they'll store your bag. As far as I know that includes delivery and pick up from wherever you're staying. I think they close early... I want to say 5:00. So on outbound trip you'll need to arrive early for departure to get your bag.
Yes, as long as you make a reservation. It will take 4 hours each way by ferry. The trip back is at night with no scenery, no music, hung over / drunk people in bad moods & contagious vomiting. If you take a plane to KW it is only an hour each way which is more enjoyable & gives you much more time for your vacation.
As other mentioned about four hours. Didn't really notice it though.
The website, google maps and at the fmy dock all has the info you seek
Flying will save you 6 hours time round trip from Fort Myers. The price is not much different. The plane guarantees you a comfortable seat. Often times on the night trip back from KW, drunks hog 2 or 3 seats & decent people end up sitting on the floor.
No cars
