I would agree would probably take closer to four and a half hours. Do a litle research so you can be sure you take the right trolley if you're going to travel around on the island you can't get anybody to give you a straight answer on the trolley system. if you're not staying overnight don't plan on trying to do too much stuff pick out one nice thing you want to do go do it and Zippo, it will be time to go back in get on the key West Express to go back. I would never try and make it a one-day trip again I would stay overnight or take automobile down.

From my experience, it takes four to 4 1/2 hours, depending on conditions.
I am sorry we left from Ft. Myers and it took us 4and 1/2 hours.
