This was not a good experience. First, the hotel says it is pet friendly. At check in I was charged a nonrefundable 50.00 deposit for my dog. Clearly this hotel is not pet friendly, there is no designated area for waste, or supplies to clean up? This left me feeling angry and disappointed. Then I get in the room there is the bare minimum regarding towels. Also, there is some sort of scale on the outside of the shower. The AC sounded like a jet aircraft when it started up. So, we woke nearly every time it came on to cool. This last one is the most important safety. The back door was propped open by a trashcan and one of side doors was propped open with a water bottle (?) . Near as I can tell, all night, I walked my dog at 9pm, 1am and 6am. For the money this hotel is not a good value, it is not well maintained and it is not safe. You might as well stay in down town Amarillo for half the money. I will not stay there again.

It suited our needs. The room was nice,good size and comfortable. It wasn't entirely clean though. There was dust and a battery behind the nightstand closest to the wall. Normally as a rewards member you get a bottle of water or a cookie, something to welcome you. That didn't happen. Overall it was adequate, not really special.

Staff was friendly but there seemed to be a lot of confusion. They worked it out and we got our rooms, which were clean except for the tomato sauce stains on the white sheets? I think they are having trouble finding help so maybe it will be better once they get some staff that can keep up with maintenance and pay more attention to sheets coming out of the laundry.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We ended up leaving an hour after we checked in. Our room was disgusting (huge globs of dirt inside our air conditioning unit, the linens were filthy, layers of dust on the furniture and there was an actual wasp flying around our room…pretty sure it came in through the AC window unit). We asked for a different room but they didn’t have one (and another guest walked in while we were in the lobby to turn in his “old key” on the first room they gave him that was too dirty). I’m still fighting with them for a refund (actually had to open a dispute with my credit card company). Nightmare experience, and HILTON should be ashamed to have their name associated with this property! Best Western in Clarendon was a GREAT alternate option.
