Great place to swim and plan parties 🥳🥳

Great camping, primitive, tent with elec and water or RV. Most sites near the lake and boat ramps. Spacious and serene, but absolutely no wifi service...which made it even better for me. Owned by Corp. Of Engineers near the Angelina National Forest.

Great place for a quick disconnect from the busy world! I stayed on a site that included a shelter, water and electricity included. Ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. A few details: *restrooms were clean and close to site *we had little to no cell service (which wasn’t a bad thing) *one of the quietest campsites I’ve been too, even at night *swim area was closed off due to COVID restrictions *quite a few boat ramps

Hanks Creek Campground is beautiful. Sites are all paved & level. We only stayed one night. Restrooms are clean. Camp host was friendly. He let me use his cell phone to pay for my site. His phone carrier was AT&T and had a good signal. My Verizon had a spotty signal 1G at best. Pick about 10 HD TV stations. Would stay here again. Look forward to the sunrise & sunsets over the Rayburn Lake.

No not at the sites were we stayed.
It's been doing great
Yes
You can go on recreation.gov and see.
There are shelters there. Similar to a cabin with a door and screened walls.
No, the lake is patrolled by game wardens regularly checking for license and boat safety requirements.
Yes but it will be tight, but it will work.
Labor Day I think.
Not sure they are inside the camping area and I know you rent them with campers for like 28 a day .not sure if they rent them just for day
No ma'am you will have to pay day fee .and get there early cause they only got couple of tables
They don't have Cabins, but they fo have screened in Shelters that are nice to stay in.
They are open now with a limited number of camp sites. I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Recreation.gov and type Hanks Creek in the search bar.
They are open now for camping, just not all spots. The back loop by the boat ramp is closed.
Not in the camping area. The area at the public ramp and swimming area may have.
Pretty sure they do since that what we had to have but you can check with them
There is not any cabins on corps camp grounds. Only screened in areas you can go to reservation. Gov to get prices or after 10 a.m. Central Time call 877 four for four six seven seven seven
Yes and jetskiis are allowed, but like what Tommy said, be mindful of the no wake zones and it is primarily a fishing crowd found on this area of the lake. Most people who are jetskiing put in around Shirley Creek area or Parker Point or somewhere close to accessing Rattlesnake Island.
No and I will be surprised if it even opens this summer because of the extent of the damage caused by the prolonged flooding.
I've had a 12x12 tent on the same site as my 36ft RV. Around site 7 is a good place for multiple tents. You may be charged a day rate of $4 for it over the regular rate.
I was told June 1, but the lake is still taking in water from the rivers. Google lake Sam Rayburn water levels. Select the Corp of Engineers site. They have ramp and park status updated daily.
$26 per night unless you have the old folks card, then 1/2 off. You can double check at www.recreation.gov
The park is owned by the Corp of Engineers. They have people who come in and work during the summer months.
Hanks Creek has been closed. I heard it will open back up May 1.
Yes, 2. At the entrance and at the ramp. Also, warm water! Nice facilities. I was notified yesterday that they will be closed until June 1. Had my May reservation cancelled.
We couldn't make reservations until May1. Apparently that is the reopening after the flooding. They have 30 amp in most sites and a few with 50 amps. Go to reservations.gov.
Not at Hanks Creek have retired and moved back to Warren.
I was told no. May 1 is the opening date and the earliest I could reserve a site. Used recreation.gov site.
No, Hanks Creek park is completely closed however, Monterey Park is open or was the last I heard.
2week stay has a standard rate, anything longer than 2 weeks & they recommend you call ahead to discuss variable rates.
